Shikwan
I have the Geo Filter set in Strict Mode with Auto Ping Host unchecked. When my friends join me in a game online on Xbox, I can click their respective Peer icons but some that I click will keep 'looping' and not ever populate the Ping info box. Is this because they are behind a firewall of some sort? They are within my range (which I have set at 600 miles).
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 10, 2019 Administrators Share Posted August 10, 2019 Yes that is possible, it's highly likely the router can't ping them. They may have an option on their router enabled to not respond to internet pings.
Shikwan
Right, that's my conclusion but thought I'd ask as it was driving me nuts! lol
Shikwan
Wanted to add another question to this topic; I noticed as well; some of my friends and some servers have a dotted circle around them (as opposed to the full circle noted in the Geo-Filter Icon Legend), Any explanation on that?? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 31, 2019 Administrators Share Posted August 31, 2019 Yes that means they have been allowed by Ping Assist i.e. they are under the ping limit you set in Geo-Filter Map options.
