tryin2game
Hello. So I've seen some posts about this in 2018 but have not seen any resolutions. I apologize if this topic has been resolved. I have a new XR500. Firmware is XR500 V2.3.2.40. My PS4 Pro is hardwired and has a static IP address assigned. The router does not recognize when the PS4 is online - in both the network monitor and the device manager. When I run speed tests on the PS4 i have high bufferbloat - so my assumption is the router is not doing its job and cannot find the PS4 to prioritize traffic or apply the anti-bufferbloat. To get the router to recognize the PS4 - i have to reboot the router and restart the PS4. However, if I shut down the PS4 and turn it back on, it loses its recognition until i reboot both systems again. I'm pretty disappointed rn. The purpose of purchasing the router was to game. Restarting my router every time I want to hop on is in convenient. Is somebody able to assist in getting this resolved?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 8, 2019 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2019 Hey, welcome to the forum! This was an issue introduced into the .40 firmware that we're aware of and will be fixing, could you try downgrading to .32 please and see if that resolves your issue? tryin2game
Fraser - thank you. Quick question - will rolling back the firmware require me to set everything up again? ie devices & static routes? Just trying to figure how much time i need to set aside to do it. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 8, 2019 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2019 No it won't, it should save all of your settings as they are at the moment.
