YT_LowPingKing Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 How exactly does High Priority Traffic work if there are multiple consoles using it at the same time? The more detail the better. Thanks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 25, 2019 Administrators Posted July 25, 2019 All of those devices will be at the top of the queue ahead of anything else on the network. Then it would be a case of prioritizing as and when packets are sent/received, there is no priority order per se.
YT_LowPingKing Posted July 27, 2019 Author Posted July 27, 2019 With traffic on Xbox what happens if one Xbox is watching Netflix and another is playing games? Is Netflix also getting high priority?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 27, 2019 Administrators Posted July 27, 2019 No it shouldn't, it's meant to just prioritize games. Easy way to tell would be to look at Traffic Prioritization Information, if prioritized download packets are updating rapidly then it is being prioritized when it shouldn't.
YT_LowPingKing Posted August 8, 2019 Author Posted August 8, 2019 How would HPT effect streaming? If i remember correctly I was advised to turn off HPT on the R1 before the DumaOS update.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 8, 2019 Administrators Posted August 8, 2019 Streaming on the console itself? It should be fine but it depends, if in order to provide a steady stream the streaming packets need to be ahead of the queue then HPT may interfere with this as it's prioritizing the game instead. So probably i'd recommend just using Anti-BB and Bandwidth Allocation if you plan to stream. Try it both ways but I think the stream is quite needy in that it wants a constant stream of packets (understandably).
