MorningstarZero
When using the builtin DHCP & DNS providers on the router, devices that populate into Device Manager automatically get named according to their Host Name. However, when using an external DHCP & DNS providers (such as a Windows Server), all devices show up in device manager as "unnamed device" and have to be manually named. It'd be great if we had an option to configure Device Manager to be able to query external DHCP and/or DNS providers to handle automatic naming of devices. Administrators Netduma Alex Posted July 24, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 24, 2019 I like this idea but since DumaOS is primarily focused on consumers, we're unlikely to add this feature. Still, i'll add it to the list of suggestions because it might turn out to be quite easy. It's all about effort vs usefulness for the average person. MorningstarZero
I can appreciate that. Well, here's hoping that one of your devs sees the suggestion and adds it to the backlog.
