Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 26, 2019 Administrators Posted January 26, 2019 It's apparently firmware the router you have is using. Give the console a static IP on the R1 then reboot both the console and router and see if things appear properly in the map when you're in a game
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 26, 2019 Administrators Posted January 26, 2019 Go to Settings and then on the LAN side go to DHCP and you can reserve IP addresses for your devices
Rosaria Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 ok i think I did it but nothing is showing up
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 26, 2019 Administrators Posted January 26, 2019 You mean your devices aren't listed to give them static IPs?
Rosaria Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 Sorry, I meant that on the geo filter page nothing is showing up. All my devices say "invalid IP address"? Would a screenshot be helpful? Sorry I realize I am being really annoying but I just want this to work!
Rosaria Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 I only checked the box that said "reserve IP" i can't change any numbers
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 26, 2019 Administrators Posted January 26, 2019 You need to put in a number once you've ticked the box otherwise they won't get an IP address which is what you've found
Rosaria Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 I tried and I cannot type a number anywhere after I tick the box.
Rosaria Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 Ok I was able to do it! I made it .25 after the IP address. I rebooted everything and still nothing is showing up. xbox, router, modem and the r1 lol is there anything else I can try?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 27, 2019 Administrators Posted January 27, 2019 What do you mean the router, modem, r1 aren't showing up? When you refer to Xbox you mean nothing shows up on the Geo-Filter when gaming?
Rosaria Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 sorry what I meant was that I rebooted the xbox, modem, router and r1 after changing the ip address and after it all came back on line there are still no players/hosts showing up on the geo filter page.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 27, 2019 Administrators Posted January 27, 2019 Could you provide a screenshot of the Geo-Filter page please
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 27, 2019 Administrators Posted January 27, 2019 Do you have auto ping enabled? Can you unzoom fully on the map, does anything appear at all then?
Rosaria Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 it was not enabled I just clicked it on, here is another screenshot
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 27, 2019 Administrators Posted January 27, 2019 Do a factory reset and then setup Geo-Filter again, does it work then?
Rosaria Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 Ok I did a factory reset this is what my device manager page looks like now, what is the openrg?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 27, 2019 Administrators Posted January 27, 2019 If you have another router connected to it, I think it will be that. Otherwise it's just incorrectly guessed what the device is called, probably going off it's manufacturer
Rosaria Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 ok its got it listed as xbox, there is no option to select to make it a router what do i need to change it to? Also where is everything else thats connected? iPhones, laptops, the xbox? It was all showing up before the factory reset now I do not see my devices
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 27, 2019 Administrators Posted January 27, 2019 So it is a router then? You don't need to change it to anything specifically just leave it as a PC. Is the router behind the XR in AP mode? If not you'll need to do that before you can see the devices
Rosaria Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 I'm not sure what you mean? 5 minutes ago, Netduma Fraser said: Is the router behind the XR in AP mode
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 27, 2019 Administrators Posted January 27, 2019 Sorry, I meant the router behind the R1 needs to be in AP mode
Rosaria Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 I am not sure how to do that. I have tried going to the routers settings but I cannot load the settings page i assume because i have the r1 plugged into the modem and the original router plugged into the r1?
