We just got our router and we can’t even get the lights to stop blinking or even get it to connect to the internet and nowhere can we find info on this online. We need help figuring out what the issue is. We’ve tried different ports and different t cables. We have reset the modem as well. We are wireless by the way....

Hi Dana,

Blinking lights are normal. Did you receive a quick start guide with the router? If not, please see it here:  https://netduma.com/netduma-quickstart.pdf

The best setup is to connect your router into your modem, using an Ethernet cable that goes from your modem into port 1 on the back of the router.

Afterwards, you need to connect to the router. You can either do this using an Ethernet cable into any of the other ports (and into a PC or laptop), or connecting Wirelessly. To connect Wirelessly, search for the WiFi router called 'Netduma R1' and connect to it. The wireless password is on the bottom of the router. It's the Serial Number (SN) - enter all the characters except the '/' and final three characters.

There's a more detailed guide here: http://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000077071-dumaos-optimal-settings-guide-accessing-dumaos

Ok. When you seach for WiFi networks, can you see the Netduma R1? If you then type in the password, can you connect to it and get Internet through it?

The blinking yellow lights are normal - that is a good sign that it is turned on and has an active connection to the things connected to it.

We see the netdumaR1 as a network to connect to and can connect to it on our phones and laptop but not on my sons PS4 which was why we bought it; however. Even on the phone and laptop we cannot get on the internet at all.

Ok - could you confirm how you have connected the Netduma R1 to your modem?

Also, on your laptop which has wirelessly connected to the R1, could you open a web browser and type in 192.168.88.1 - does the user interface open?

Ok great. That’s a good sign - it means your router is working. Now we just need to give it internet.

On the router interface, if you go the Device Manager, can you see an entry for WAN IP?

If you have already upgraded to DumaOS, then this information is now in System Information.

If you cannot see a WAN IP, could you turn off your modem and your router. Then turn the modem back on, wait 30 seconds, and then turn the router back on. Do you now get Internet?
