Wifi booster to the r1

Can a wifi booster be hooked up to the r1 to get better wifi  connection.  Have a two story house not sure if the wife I will reach both stories. I have not set up the are one just yet

You can use either a wifi extender (booster) or another router set to AP mode and link that to the R1 via ethernet cable which is how I used mine when I had it connected. I however used powerline adapters to do this as it meant I could have my AP router anywhere where theres a power socket as then the R1 and AP are connected via ethernet ports that connect to the powerline adapters and send the signals through the electricity supply.

Okay sorry I post it in a different block on the net gear nighthy post wast sure if it was understood that it was for the r1 or the xr500
