Yas
Hi. Hope everyone is well. I recently purchased the RX500 and I have slow speeds. My previous broadband speeds were 200mb download and 12mb upload. I now get 93mb max of download and upload is around 11-12mb. My original router is a virgin media super hub 3 amd its in modem mode. Yas
Hey. Thanks for the reply. I have attached the QoS settings pic. I've also set anti Bufferbloat to "when high priority traffic detected" Thanks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 28, 2018 Administrators Share Posted October 28, 2018 Do you have share excess disabled?
Yas
Sorry, where can i find that?
AI_EXREYFOX
You can find in that menu, you have 3 litle bars in horizontal on the "Brandwidth Allocation" click in. I have the same problem in the download side. the to bars at 70% down-140Mb and up-105Mb, if i do a speedtest app i get +/- 50-60Mb In my case have a R1 runing OS beta and i have to unclick "Duma OS Classifiel Games" to have 140Mb downe
Yas
The "output" is ticked and the "disable QoS" is unticked. Thanks for that info. I'm new to netgear, so I just wanted to know how I can get my standard speed back. I mainly purchased the Rx500 for FIFA
Yas
Also, I read somewhere in a forum that I may have to use my orignal broadband suppliers mac address to get my original speeds. Can someone please let me know if there's any truth in that? Thanks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 28, 2018 Administrators Share Posted October 28, 2018 Yes theres definitely truth in that, please try it
Yas
Ok thanks. Do I have to put my original router back into router mode for me to find the mac add? Thanks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 28, 2018 Administrators Share Posted October 28, 2018 Just look at the label underneath the router and it should say
Yas
Ok thanks. Will give that a try. I'm sure when i did it, i applied the changes and the box above had all 0's in it. The "internet IP address box " had 0's in it Reboot both routers once I've applied changes?

Yas
The mac address doesn't have any ":" written with it. Does that matter?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 29, 2018 Administrators Share Posted October 29, 2018 5 hours ago, Yas said: The mac address doesn't have any ":" written with it. Does that matter? It definitely should do, does it say MAC address on the label? If so then it doesn't matter, when you type it into the router it will have the colons there
Yas
It says CM MAC and then followed by 12 characters with no colons
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 29, 2018 Administrators Share Posted October 29, 2018 Okay that's fine, I've just seen they can sometimes be written without colons
Yas
hi. The mac address for virgin media hub doesn't work. My Ip address box goes to all 0's. i even exchanged my netgear today for a new one as that is what i was told by netgear as it may of been faulty. i now have the same issue. Max speeds are 93mb instead of 200mb
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 31, 2018 Administrators Share Posted October 31, 2018 Did you put the MAC address of the Virgin hub as the MAC address of the XR500? If so I meant whatever router you used before the XR500 that was connected to the hub, use that MAC address.
Yas
The virgin hub was the only hub I've been using, so therefore i used the MAC address for the virgin hub and entered that in instead of the default XR500 MAC address and still my max speed is 93mb
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 31, 2018 Administrators Share Posted October 31, 2018 Okay that shouldn't be the cause then. If you disable QoS completely in Anti-Bufferbloats options do you get your full speeds?
Yas
I have disabled the QoS and speeds are the same, 93mb max. Like i said, this isn't making sense. With the virgin hub its 200mb and i exchanged my netgear and issue still isn't fixed
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 31, 2018 Administrators Share Posted October 31, 2018 If QoS is disabled completely then it's not a DumaOS issue and likely something else causing it. I'd recommend calling Netgear support as it may be something in the settings or upstream causing the issue.
