MarkCorbyn123 Posted June 18, 2018 Share Posted June 18, 2018 We have tried to correct our NAT type with the instructions from Netduma and used the YouTube clip on the URL too. Our Xbox One X is still having issues. I have a Moderate NAT type and still the annoying double NAT. Nothing seems to be working no matter how many opinions I have tried Your strict NAT will be causing several issues, so lets get that sorted first of all. Enable UPnP in Settings > UPnP on the Netduma, and make sure no rules are set in Settings > Port Forwarding. Then, put your Netduma in the DMZ of your modem. (To do this, navigate to the Device Manager. Copy the WAN IP address found near the top of the page, then access your Modem interface. Paste that WAN IP address into the DMZ box which is usually found in Security / Firewall settings.) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What is the Mfr and model of the ISP modem? if you use uPnP, disable any port forwarding configurations as its not needed. If your modem has a built in router, use it's DMZ on the modem/router for the IP address of the NetDuma router that it gets from the modem/router. The model number of my modem is a HG633 from TalkTalk. I don't have any of my ports forwarding in the uPnP. My set up is: Wall outlet into a TalkTalk modem > Netduma is plugged into the TalkTalk modem. > From the Netduma is a TP Link sender to a receiver upstairs. > From the receiver upstairs, it feeds into a splitter which then connects to my Devices (PC and Xbox One X), all of this is done via a hard wired connection. The reason for this is because of the distance from the Modem to the devices. The TP Link are powered, in the sense that they are plugged in to a wall socket. I have look at the DMZ option, I logged on to my providers account and went into the firewall and enabled the DMZ and select the Netduma too. This didn't fix my NAT type either. With the Geo-Filter disabled and the R1 in the DMZ of your modem, do you have an open NAT? Is it possible to bring the Netduma and the Xbox to your modem and connect this way: Modem > Netduma > Xbox (I mean only temporarily) to rule out the splitter / receiver? It's important to make sure they aren't the cause. Since this is an Xbox One issue you could also try this solution: - Go to Xbox dashboard. - Go to system settings - Go to network - Go to advanced settings - Go to alternate MAC address Clear - Your Xbox will tell you It will restart. - Once you have restarted the NAT type should be open. I would enable the wifi on the NetDuma and connect the xbox to it's wireless or use a LAN cable. Then check for NAT condition. Need to rule out those power line adapters by bypassing them. We had an open Nat on the Xbox with this for around 10-15 minutes before it disconnected and returned to double NAT and haven’t been able to reconnect it since. I have tried resetting everything to the beginning and trying again, but the mode stays on Moderate Double NAT. Due to the type of Modem I have, I am unable to put this into 'Bridge Mode'. My Modem is a HG633 from TalkTalk. The one piece of troubleshooting that was a success; Modem > Netduma > Xbox One. When this was connected up (Hard wired) it was giving me and open NAT type and no double NAT was detected. I left it for a minute or two and it wasn't dropping out. The netduma connected to the modem seems to be the configuration you need. Sounds like your devices that are in between the router and remote location if your xbox are effecting NAT. Since your gettnig OPEN NAT directly having the xbox connected to the R1, your problems are probably with your in between devices. Can you enable wireless on the R1 router and have the xbox connect to it and still get OPE NAT? You may need to use wireless as a more direct connection to the R1 if you can't get a direct wired LAN cable to the remote location. I would put the R1s IP address it gets from the Modem into the Modems DMZ. This will also help with NAT since the modem already has a router built in. The suggestions above are great, and I couldn't agree more. You've now proved the source of your NAT issue, which is the switch and receiver. If everything is working well with those disconnected then these are without doubt the issue. Could you not use a powerline adapter instead of your splitter / receiver setup? Your setup would then be Modem > Netduma > Powerline Adapter > Console. The Powerline Adapter wouldn't cause any issues and would allow you to get a wired connection upstairs. I have tried removing the TP Link (power line adapter) and splitter. And running off the wireless. NOT GOOD. When I connect my PC to the Netduma the connection lasts for around 5 seconds. By the time I load an internet page, it's gone. On the Xbox it struggles to locate the Netduma as a wireless connection. It found it once, and by the time I tried to put the password in, the connection disappeared. e38BimmerFN Posted June 20, 2018 Share Posted June 20, 2018 IF they can add you a LAN cable outlet the comes from where your modem and NetDuma router is located, then you'll be good. You can then add a network LAN switch to help expand the ports and be able to add other items in the remote location. Wireless on the R1 wasn't great and depending upon the distance between the R1 and your xbox, the signal might not be enough. So, yes, it's highly recommended if you can get a LAN cable installed from the Modem/Router location up to the remote location. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Something at the moment I cannot afford. Correct me if I am wrong, I assume there isn't anything more we can do to make to work with the current set up? e38BimmerFN Posted June 20, 2018 Share Posted June 20, 2018 Only other thing you can try is to get a wireless AP installed that has more power and range than the R1 does and see if you can get better wireless signal to the remote location. This could still be problematic as well. Might ask a friend or someone you may know that knows how to install LAN cabling. You don't need the ISP to install LAN cabling.
