iFelsie Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Hello! I have a ETL VERIFIED Cat .5e FTP TIA/EIA-568B.2 internet cable and a ETL CAT.6 UTP TIA/EIA 568B.2 CM 4PR. which should I use?
RL317 Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 I would honestly use the cat5e FTP rather than the cat6 UTP. Foil shielded cables have been good to me over the last few years. Cat6 should only really be needed if you have a huge amount (like gigabit) of bandwidth or you're running that cable over a considerable distance. Cat5e is good for 1000Mb/1Gb but cat6 allows you to maintain 10Gb over distances as far as 50m I believe.
