Buffering when watching twitch

Recommended Posts

Whenever I watch twitch the video buffers plays for a second then buffers again. Every other video site is fine except twitch.

When I have my pc hooked up to my comcast modem/router I can have a stream open playing at source and play a game, but now I cant even play a stream on the lowest setting with no console on.

Checked all over the forums multiple times and couldnt find and answer.

I have 123.8 down and 12.24 up

What modem?

Hey, welcome to the forum!

You have plenty of bandwidth so that shouldn't be an issue. Are you getting your full speeds through the R1 hard wired? Are you watching Twitch when wireless?

Sorry it took so long to reply had a lot come up. I believe my modem is a Cisco DPC3941T. not sure what you mean by getting my full speeds or how to check that but I am wired on both my pc and console

That does not surprise me but I usually have no problems on pc just on consoles. I also did everything in the link but still have the problem

Look up intel puma 6. That's the modem you have so no matter what you do you're gonna lag.

Do a Speedtest wired and make sure you're getting your full speeds.

But i dont lag if i just use that and not the R1

Your videos might not buffer, but your ping is spiking every few seconds to 200+ ms. Trust me I've used that modem on Comcast and told them to take it back within a day after seeing my ping with pingplotter.

The video buffering is either something you setup wrong on the R1, if its setup right then it's the modem.

From what I know that's all they use, I would personally buy my own. Saves you $10 a month rental fee too. Pays for itself in 5 months.

Reboot the modem after you connect it to the R1

It worked thanks! Now when i set my bandwidth do i have to reset anything?

Set it to the speeds you should normally get, then when it asks to automatically configure the router click yes.

In your original post you said 123 down and 12 up... I'd put in 120 down 10 or 11 up
