THE_DEAD_POOL
Looking for suggestions or set ups that users have for their routers set up as Access Points (AP) with the Netduma. I am currently using a Netgear Nighthawk R7000. My current plan is 150 down and 10 up. Using the Nighthawk as my main router, I can achieve wireless speeds between 70-100meg down and 10 meg up. Using the Nighthawk as an AP connected to the Netduma, I usually get between 20-50 meg down and 8-10 meg up. I was wondering if there is a way to set up the Netduma with an AP to achieve optimal wireless speeds? Does it require a higher device prioritization? Everything currently evenly distributed with shared excess ticked. Turbo mode is also ticked. No difference between IPv4 and IPv6. My Wired speeds to my computer are good. Modem is a TP-Link TC-7610. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 16, 2017 Administrators Share Posted June 16, 2017 I posted in your previous thread but make sure these are set: Reactive Algorithm 100% anti-flood Share excess enabled Reset device prioritisation & apply Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc Disable deep packet in misc Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds. Do a wired speed test from a PC Disable the WiFi on the R1 as well, make sure the Netgear is using auto channel. I believe they have some options in their wireless settings that boosts speed as well. THE_DEAD_POOL
Yes, WiFi is disabled on the Netduma. I believe auto channel is ticked, but I'll have to double check.
XSXS
I am sure you have something set up wrong. Double check your settings and make sure you have your AP set up correctly and report back!

THE_DEAD_POOL
I factory reset the R7000, and installed the Merlin software. I did not see any options to boost the WiFi performance. So far my WiFi performance is the same. I'm lucky to break 50 meg down and 7 meg up. This is done with the "Speedtest" app on my phone. Even though Share Excess is ticked, is it possible the NetDuma is only allotting part of my bandwidth to the R7000 and reserving the rest for other devices? Currently the only devices active are my computer, R7000, and my iPhone connected wirelessly to the R7000.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 18, 2017 Administrators Share Posted June 18, 2017 No that wouldn't occur because when in access point mode the Netduma should see all devices connected to it as individual devices on the device manager and as such can allocate bandwidth to those individual devices. Is the Netduma receiving full speeds through ethernet?
THE_DEAD_POOL
No that wouldn't occur because when in access point mode the Netduma should see all devices connected to it as individual devices on the device manager and as such can allocate bandwidth to those individual devices. Is the Netduma receiving full speeds through ethernet? Yes, the Netduma is getting over 100 meg down and 10 up. So far today my wireless speeds have been around 100 meg down and 5 up consistently. I'm beginning to think that the issue may not be with my AP setup, but rather local ISP congestion. My speeds appear to be fluctuating throughout the day. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 20, 2017 Administrators Share Posted June 20, 2017 That would make sense, I would try direct from your hub over different times of the day and see what the speeds are like. Particularly focus on off peak & peak times to see if there's a radical difference
