XBOX1 Nat Type "Unavailable"

Recommended Posts

I have 2 XBOX1 consoles on a single Netduma.  One console gets a Nat Type of Open or Moderate, the other console gets Unavailable.  I have a Netduma plugged in to my Comcast Arris TG1682G.  I have configured a DMZ and turned off port forwarding on the Arris - UPnP is enabled and UPnP forwarding is also enabled on Netduma.  I have tried port forwarding on Netduma to the console that has "unavailable" nat type, but whichever combination I try I can't seem to get both consoles on Open or Moderate Nat type.

Is having 2 consoles affecting the Nat types on either console?  For the console that has Unavailable, I can't get in to private parties whether or not host filtering is enabled for the console or not but I can play in public lobbies just and have game chat.  Any suggestions on this?

Disable UPnP forwarding in miscellaneous settings.

The not being able to play in a private game is more likely because you need to add your friends to your allow list.

Make sure auto&bleeding edge cloud are ticked and applied. Apply even if already selected. Then try again. Otherwise see disable the Geo-filter, do you get a NAT Type?

I have my friends in the allow list already. I will follow your suggestions and report back results.

Ok after setting changes and several XBOX1 and Netduma reboots, I got an Open NAT type - with Host Filter disabled. I was able to join in live parties just fine.

BUT....

I only got Open NAT type when host filter was disabled. Once I enabled it, it went back to "Unavailable".

Thoughts on how to keep Open NAT with Host Filter enabled?

Yes, when geo-filter is enabled it certainly blocks anything out of my radius. It just throws NAT type to "unavailable" and won't let me join private parties (of allowed players).

Just a suggestion. If you see locks popping up in the geofilter click on them and write down the ID's and report them back here so Fraser can evaluate.

I will see what I can collect.  in the meantime, any other tips or config changes that might help, let me know.

It sounds like something needs to be added to the whitelist. Disable the Geo-filter, once it's allowed then you can enable the filter again thats all you can do atm.

ok so I got everything working so far.  Before booting up console, I disable geo-filter, once console is up the NAT type is OPEN and then I turn the geo-filter back on.  As long as console NAT type is Open, I do not have trouble getting in to private parties and inviting allow listed friends in to lobbies.

Great to hear. Definitely something being blocked then. If you can provide me the ID of what is being blocked I can add it to the whitelist.
