Bt / speed

Recommended Posts

possibility for your reduced download spped is that you are on interleaving. This can be caused by a line fault causing a drop in connection and your modem reconnecting too frequently. you should get higher speeds once interleaving has been lifted after 9-11 days of uninterrupted connection. Not sure about the ammount of crc errors but that is pretty high. I had a few errors on my download stream and i found out that my bt profile was auto set to 30a multimode by default on my asus modem but when i did a bit of research and found out the bt uses 17a multimode and i changed it to 17a multimode i never had another crc error again. I since bought a dreytek modem which autoset me to profile 17a and had no errors on that also.

Depending wether the modem you use allows you to customise your dsl settings check to see if your connection is set to 17a or 30a.  30a profiles are for the new ultrafast vdsl which is only on trial in a few small areas and 17a is for vdsl speeds of upto 100mbps such as bt infinity2.
