Cannot connect to VPN, Reads: Failure to Communicate with Router

I just purchased expressVPN  and have been following its instructions on how to connect its VPN with a netduma router. However, when i try to enable it, an error reads "Failure to Communicate with Router," when it should read "connected" (In a green box as opposed to a red box). As mentioned before i am using expressVPN.

You will need a user name and password + an openvpn config file from your vpn service. You will have to copy/paste the config file into the advanced section on R1.

If the setup is correct, then usually this is fixed with a reboot or worse case a factory reset
