Wireless backup drive dropping off my network

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I’m having some issues with my backup drive (Apple Time Capsule).  To cut a long story short recently it keeps losing connectivity to the network so backups are failing.

I hadn’t noticed any problems with it before moving to my R1, so I wondered if a setting I could have altered by following the Quickstart guide might be causing an issue.  It could of course be the device itself having gone wonky as I’ve found they do seem to have a bad rep for this particular problem.

Has anyone else had similar issues ?  Any advice would be much appreciated as always !

Is it connected to the router wirelessly or your devices connect to it wirelessly? Either way try this guide first of all: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022405-why-does-the-netduma-wifi-keep-dropping-out-

Thanks for that.  The drive itself is connected to the R1 via ethernet.  I'm carrying out backups over wireless.  I've worked through the suggestions on the page you linked me to, I'll give it another whirl and see how I get on.

OK so I went through and changed the settings as per the guide and had some success as I was able to complete a backup, but I'm still having the issue with the drive losing connectivity to the network.  What's weird is that while the backup was progressing the AirPort utility software was showing that there was an issue with the network.

Afternoon guys, I think I've been able to sort this out now.  Turns out there is an issue with the Mac OS that's causing this problem that I've now found a workaround for.  Thanks for the suggestions anyways :)
