b00stg0d Posted September 23, 2016 Share Posted September 23, 2016 I came in this evening to plop down and shoot a few people before chillin' with the family and I am dropping packets so bad that it's like someone is lag switching. I will see a guy aim shoot he disappears and all the sudden I'm dead. I have zero measured packet loss at the modem but the R1 is showing packet loss. What gives? I have rebooted and just Monday reset to default and did a reconfig because people that have been on my ALLOW list are not able to join me nor me them. They show in the map as allowed circles outside of the range yet couldn't even turn off the geo-filter and join them. Now I can't play at all. My in-game ping is 33ms but usually is stable 33ms now is jumping to 50ms, but people would die for 50ms and yet the packet loss makes it unplayable. This is wired connection. b00stg0d Posted September 24, 2016 Author Share Posted September 24, 2016 I have tested all the patch cables more than once but never hurts to look again. I think it was possibly a loose power supply. I went to my network rack/closet and noticed the duma PS was angled away from the power strip so I pulled power and let sit for while I cut veggies for the wife's concoction o' the evening. Afterwords I had a 2 hr session with a few friends without a hitch. The lesson here, for me, is even if the readings point at a device there could be external or enviromental influence at work at any time. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
