FQs19
So I have the original PS4 launch model, CUH-1000. After I got my network issues resolved with Comcast by complaining to the FCC, I continue to have issues with online gaming with my PS4. The video below shows the BO3 in-game ping going crazy while my Netduma shows a steady 17ms ping to a dedicated server. I know you all hate that in-game ping graph, but I believe that the graph is accurate. Whether it is showing total ping including processing time, who knows. I just know that what that graph is showing is exactly what is happening in game. Players are stuttering and teleporting all over, including myself. I believe that my PS4 CUH-1000 is starting to fail. Not sure what part, but it's not the hard drive. Tried multiple hard drives, all of which were re-initialized. So what I'm wondering is what percentage of PS4 model CUH-1000 users are having these same issues? Is anyone with the later models including the CUH-11xx and CUH-12xx having the same issues? UK_Wildcats_Fans
The BO3 ping is not a true ping test like the Netduma. The BO3 ping test is more of a communication, processing time. This time includes the BO3 game processing, PS4 processing, and then the standard network communications. My BO3 is a minimum of about 30mS higher. Like you, my Netduma ping is steady while my BO3 ping jumps all over the place. There are times when this will jump dramatically due to the processing. For example, the start and end of every match/round, when you have lots of players leave/enter during the game, etc. In the clip that you showed, I heard sounds in the background but did not see anyone on the map. I assume that the game/round was starting. At this point, you had 400mS. Once the players loaded into the game at the spawn, the BO3 ping dropped. This is normal for BO3. I notice this since day 1 of getting BO3. I play with some real slayers, and we often have teams rage quit. This always causes the BO3 ping to spike. You will also notice that the BO3 ping wll spike or increase when you have increased graphics - i.e. during the game, you have multiple streaks and people within the screen. The bombing run is notorious for this. Even if a friend calls it in, it shakes my screen and causes my BO3 ping to increase. I think that your PS4 is fine and you are just dealing with some bad BO3 coding.
FQs19
It's not just BO3. It's every online game. I have no issues with my Xbox One which is why I believe my PS4 is falling. Just wondering if anyone else who has the launch edition console is having the same problems.
bagsta69
I got the launch edition ps4 500 gig and no issues. It does get pretty hot when running certain games but I fire up the fans and it brings down the temperature quite a lot (external fans built into ps4 stand)
Slipknot31286sic6
Have launch day ps4 too. That graph is same for me. It's not accurate. . I don't trust any ping shown on that. Same for in lobbies since bers are 100ms per bar. I've got screen shots of ppl having 600 plus ping and still in my lobby. Because once they get in they run packet mods. Netduma won't kick them or stop this. Is what it is. Ur ps4 is fine. If u wanna watch graph watch netduma. That's server graph. Peer ping is graph to everyone in lobby
