WiFi has stopped working

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, I encountered a very weird problem today with the WiFi connection on my Netduma suddenly stopping working.

I was on version 1.03.5m when the issue started, I tried upgrading to 1.03.6g but the issue is still there.

My connection speeds are 35 download and 10 upload on wired - I can't provide wireless speeds for obvious reasons!

My Duma is plugged into a Sky Hub, and to it I have my gaming PC, a PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 connected via ethernet, as well as my smartphone (a Nexus 6P if that is relevant) connected wirelessly until the issue started.

Yesterday my ISP suffered an outage for most of the day, when I was finally able to reconnect late in the evening everything seemed fine as all of my devices except my phone are connected via ethernet. However later on when I went to use my phone I noticed I kept receiving the error "Authentication problem" when trying to connect my phone to the Duma. Connecting to my Sky Hub wirelessly still worked fine.

I messed about with most of the settings in the WiFi menu of the Duma interface, including turning the WiFi connection on and off several times, switching through all three security modes, changing the SSID and passphrase, trying every channel and swapping the bandwith back and forth between 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, none of which solved the issue. I also held the Reset button on the back of the Duma as well as simply unplugging and replugging the power and ethernet from my Sky Hub to it, which also didn't help. There has been no difference in performance for any of my wired devices - they are all still perfectly stable with speeds I normally achieve. The WiFi light on the Duma itself is completely unlit.

If you held the reset button on the back (which should only be done as a last resort) then you have factory reset your Netduma.

You are far better off doing a factory reset from miscellaneous settings.

I assume you've tried a hard reset of your iPhone too?

If you've set your Netduma back up again, and it's still not working, post screenshots of your settings up here and we'll have a look.

Thanks for your reply but I've realised the problem - when my internet outage initially happened, I assumed it was an issue with my Netduma, so I tried all the troubleshooting steps then, including the factory reset which of course reset the wifi passphrase to "netdumar1". However I've been entering my old passphrase as I didn't realise the passphrase was reset! My router's fine, I've just been entering the wrong passphrase for an entire day not realising it had been reset
