Geo Filter issues

Recommended Posts

So I been noticing that I can not temp ban servers, it keep saying there temp ban but I still get connected to them. I have also noticed that my friend from Ireland that I usually have to add to allow to play with, is not even allowed but I connect to him now and shows up as solid circle. Meanwhile I have no one in green on the allow. So make me believe my Geo filter is not functioning properly.

Hi there.  I suspect what you are doing is banning ONE box of multiple, available hosts in that same building.

For example, there is a guy here named Fuzzy who has identified (14) individual ID numbers in the same building for playing Black Ops 3 in Southern Illinois.  If you "ban" one, there are 13 other boxes inside the same facility that are still available to host your next game.

The best bet is to take a look at the Host ID before you ban it, that way you can confirm the next game, while it may be hosted in the same physical building, isn't being hosted on the same box.

And the Host Ban only lasts for (5) minutes per cycle, so it will time itself out and re-appear as an available host after 5 minutes, or less than the time of your next game.

Also I have set ping to 0 and strict , shrunk my radius and still showed big circle on the east coast bo3 server even though its out of range...

When you shrink the Geo-Filter, or make changes to the filtering, you have to allow 2 minutes for the Anti-Cheat to take effect. ;)

Hey Dillinger. This is a bigger issue than you think. After update 1.15 on ps4 black ops 3. you get nat type failed. you have to bypass the netduma to get on. im sure this is going on across the board.

Do this please:

In settings > miscellaneous untick auto & bleeding edge cloud and choose the following:

21

15

25

Then click apply.

Does this resolve the not being able to connect when booting up the game with Geo-filter on?

Does this resolve the NAT test in console settings?

Monkey can you also do this please and see if it behaves as it should.

Interesting Vengeance.  I haven't seen this yet, but thanks for the info as this will no doubt come up in other threads if that is the case.

Fraser - I haven't had the PS4 on since the last update (prior to this one) so I will download the patch tonight, see if I get the same results (failed NAT), and then try this fix and report back.

i will try anything that i can. i just need the info. i haven't tried to do the port forwarding to open my NAT yet. thats about all i can think of for that. but as of right now the geo filter has to be disabled to connect to any CoD servers. i have tried black ops 3, advanced warfare and ghosts with the geo filter enabled and i can not connect to their servers.

didnt work, I did the test and still give me a Nat failed on ps4 and can't connect to Black ops 3 or Destiny, feels like the geo filter is blocking the network servers for online play, because a can login and check the play store fine

well. i went into my isp router and made sure the netdumas ip was in the DMZ hosting. it was... i then unplugged the duma for about 10 seconds. plugged it back in and my NAT went back to open. but i can not connect to any call of duty servers unless my ps4 enabled button is unticked in the geo filter. i guess for now i will have to keep the enable button clicked when i'm loading up any CoD game. then let it connect then enable the geo filter while i'm connected to the server.   at least for now that is.

i tried the untick auto and bleeding and put in 21,15 and 25. for me it didnt work.

Fraser posted a follow up in another thread that it could take up to 4 hours for the changes to populate.  Some folks have reported that it fixed the issue right away, but for those still having an issue, give it some time and try it again after a couple of hours have gone by.
