jigsawafc
Hi, A friend of mine works for Treyarch (Yes, straight up!) and I have given him information on how my connection is panning out with the NetDuma R1... I have just received a comment from another Treyarch representative in this department asking me what server am I connected to? Does anyone know how I find this out on the router and how I stay connected to this server only. When I run a SpeedTest it is connected to Bristol (42 Miles away) and my statistics are great with my Netduma R1 router. However when I run a PingTest it always connects me to either Milton Keynes or Maidenhead (73-83 Miles away). So on the NetDuma R1 how do I change my settings so that I only connect to the Bristol server? I am with Virgin Media. (220MB Fibre Optic Broadband * Download Speed, 13MB Upload Speed, 16MS Ping, 1ms Jitter & 0% Packet Loss, Grade A) Thanks
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted July 2, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted July 2, 2016 Hey, welcome to the forum The servers you connect to with a speed test are probably not the ones CoD use as their servers. You can use the GeoFilter to make a small radius around the server you want to connect to then hopefully you will connect to that one.
jigsawafc
Okay thanks, I'll give that a try
jigsawafc
After creating a small radius (111km) around my hometown. In my Ping Diagnostics I am now getting Ping = Good Jitter = Good Spikes = Good Packet Loss = No Loss What numbers range do these stats have to be classed as Exceptional? Also, I have a PS4 (Wired), Sky+HD (Wired) PC (Wired) and an iPad (Wireless) all using the NetDuma. The Sky+HD ONLY uses the internet when I watch Catch-Up, the PC is never on when I game, and the iPad is always using the internet. My PS4 is using 90% on Download and Upload Device Prioritisation... What Download or Upload Cap should I be using as this is currently at 100% on each cap? Thanks
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted July 2, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted July 2, 2016 I think you may have miss-understood the purpose of the GeoFilter. The GeoFilter will only filter connections for the console. The Internet Diagnostic test ping the Google DNS servers so will be the same regardless of the GeoFilter size. This gives an indication of the base ping.
jigsawafc
Ah I see I totally understand now thank you. Any suggestions on what my Cap should be as previously mentioned?
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted July 2, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted July 2, 2016 Ah I see I totally understand now thank you. Any suggestions on what my Cap should be as previously mentioned? I'd suggest setting it to 70% for both sliders when gaming then setting it back to 100% once you've finished
