I've been a Netduma owner since it's release and I primarily purchased it to combat the lag issues associated with COD on my Xbox, which has been pretty successful to this point, but I am transitioning over to PC gaming now.

I would like to know how I can benefit from the use of my Netduma in the PC gaming world, primarily CS:GO at this point, as there really isn't issues with lag but now I must protect myself from hackers.

Is there any benefit from using Hyperlane on PC? How does the Geo-Filter work since the service is setup for Xbox Live? (I don't notice much difference in my connection with it on or off). I disable deep packet inspection when I start gaming but should I turn it back on after? Are there any other PC gaming specific settings that would benefit me when using my Netduma? Should I setup a VPN and how will that affect matchmaking in CS:Go or other games for that matter?

Any info would be appreciated as this is my first venture into PC gaming and I'm building a monster PC gaming rig that I need to protect.

The Netduma still functions in the same way as it would on other devices; the difference is marked by the games you are playing. CS:GO servers work somewhat differently to Call of Duty servers, which means the Geofilter struggles to make a difference with that game. CS:GO, therefore, is only partially supported. If you're mainly gaming on your PC, you could turn Hyperlane on for it, which will prevent queuing on multiplayer games. With Deep Packet Processing, I'd only turn it off if your internet speed is above 100mbps.

VPN's do protect you from hackers and DDoS attacks, though they will also slow down your connection to games, since your ping will be affected by connecting through a VPN. Setting up a VPN is quite an extreme step, so I would only recommend it for professional gaming / live-streaming; just be prepared for your connection to be affected. As for other settings, I would simply use the Netduma as you did when using a console; its benefits are the same for all devices.
