IzzyNatural
I think many people have unrealistic expectations for this router, I know I did. I see a lot of people complaining basically because they dont have a "GOD" connection. This router is not going to ensure you god like connections or give you a leg up on the competition. I would even go as far to say that this router is not for everyone. Dont get me wrong, I do believe it does everything well that it claims to do. After some trial and error (and help from people here) I have my R1 getting me consistent connections. My main problem was connecting to people far away causing lag. I can say that it has 100% fixed that issue. I expected to have amazing connections all of the time and have an advantage over other players, which is dumb, but with a new piece of hardware I was all excited and hoping for something unreal. I think one small criticism would be not to advertise the R1 as "Dominating Lag" it kinda gives you the impression that you will no longer experience lag, at least for me thats what I was thinking, but thats just my opinion. The truth is that there will always be issues until microsoft and game developers do something to change it. There are people playing on Satellite, mobile hot spots, wifi, congested networks, and just flat out bad ISP. For the most part you cant really avoid these people, at least not that I am aware of. You cant avoid lag comp and just the general quirkiness of BO3. With that being said, I am happy with my purchase and the performance. For me it was worth the money, it does exactly what it claims and it fixed the main issue I was having with connecting to people far away from me. I would also say it may not be worth the money for everyone, if you have a terrible ISP its not going to solve your problems. If you already experience good connections and gameplay you probably wont notice much difference. There are many things this router can do to improve your gaming experience such as Congestion Control, Prioritization, Flood Control, Geo-filter, ect......... What you need to know is if you would actually benefit from such things.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 31, 2016 Administrators Share Posted May 31, 2016 Great post! We originally had the motto of "Kill lag" but did change it as it insinuated lag would be completely eradicated which depending on the situation - ISP etc is not always the case. Glad to hear you are enjoying the router
