Full-Duplex and Half-Duplex

I have the pre-assumption that this router functions in a full-duplex mode. Is there a way to force half-duplex ?

*I am extremely new to this concept. I am not even sure if half-duplex is a hardware limitation or a feature that can be triggered in new routers.

Hi buddy,

the question is what you try to achieve by switching from full duplex to half duplex?

Is your network device at half duplex?

(This is good source of information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duplex_(telecommunications))

If your network is at full duplex then it doesn't make a sense to switch to half duplex.

Full duplex describes the ability to send and receive data at once.

Half duplex sends and receives data in bursts but not at the same time.

Honestly, I don't think the R1 has the option to switch from full to half.

But in most cases this is not even required.

Sincerely, Kay.  :)

You have to do it on your own machine but why you want to do it I don't know. You may be able to buy a half duplex cable if they still sell them but really won't improve anything.

Hello, thanks for the responses,

As to reasons - am not trying to improve the connection in any how. Am just trying to get certain results in mind.
