Then today you upgraded using the same file? Sorry if I've misunderstood. Can you access the control panel from either of these links? http://192.168.88.1 or http://r1 youll have to type this one yourself, the link doesn't seem to work. Yeah I know what you mean

Guest Netduma Fraser
OU man http://r1 works! Yay! I will look into the issue of why 192.168.88.1 isn't working but in the mean time just use the r1 If you can, try the IP again in a few days and see if its working and if not let me know you guys are top admin/support its christmas and you are there for us BIG BIG Thanks! abc123
OU man http://r1 works! please go to command (windows) or terminal (mac os x/linux) In windows: Press Windows Key + R > type "cmd" > run "ping r1" In Mac OS X: Press Command + Space > type "terminal" > run "ping r1"
Guest Netduma_Iain
sorry skimmed over thread, but if you switched off preserve settings than IP will change to 192.168.1.1, so that was probably the issue. Please be careful when upgrading, we don't recommend doing it for no reason And be very very cautious with the advanced checkboxes, I'd urge you to never use advanced section unless we explicitly say so please. Guest Netduma_Iain
I will let you know soon, please pay attention to suggestions and updates forum. I'll inform people there, then I'll explain on the router homepage for the rest. As many customers are not on this forum or not actively on it. abc123
Hurm, I'd presume you didn't leave a method to notify the router of an update...due to security risk...maybe just the auto update check stuff everyone does

abc123
good tip with ping r1 man! Not a problem, this happens a lot with the backbone of this firmware...if you change the interface and don't know it you end up not being able to hit the old IP address. The other trick is to look for the gateway: In windows: Windows Key + R > type "cmd" > "ipconfig" > the gateway listed under the device you are listing should be the IP of the router. In Mac os X: Command Key + Space > type "terminal" > run "route -n get default"
Guest Netduma_Iain
Hi abc, We do have a method that shows a huge button to all users when an upgrade is available. However I don't want to use that till everyone is on the latest firmware. The new firmware puts upgrading is super paranoid mode. Anything even slightly goes wrong and it bails out.
