KHtechgadgets
Hi My name is Karan.I live in India and recently bought the Netduma R1.After a day or two of using it and getting the settings figures out,I got a pretty stable connection and also players of my own skill level. This was around 23rd of March. Now its 7th April and I'm having a lot of issues.Firstly I cant find a lobby in like forever and when I do either the connection will be bad or the players I'm playing with will be of a higher skill level than me.Also lately I've been noticing that after playing for a while my ping would spike up.Generally with the lobbies I play in I'd get a stable 80-90 ms ping. Now after playing for a while it will just go up to around 150-200 ms.I dont understand why is this happening. Please Help me out! BTW I play Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 My speed is around 50MBPS Down and 5MBPS Up.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 8, 2016 Administrators Share Posted April 8, 2016 Hey, welcome to the forum! We can't prevent you playing with people who are a higher skill level than you. That is a game mechanic we have no influence over. What is your setup? Are all devices connected to the duma? You should be making use of congestion control, anti-flood on 70/70, console in hyper traffic. Sounds like your base ping is high but we can't lower that. We'll keep your connection stable. Due to your location there are not many dedicated servers near you. The closest would be Singapore. Considering the game heavily prefers connecting you to dedicated servers blocking these out can cause longer wait times until it forces a P2P host. KHtechgadgets
Thanks For The Reply! It turns out that it was an issue from my ISP.Basically I use a PPPoE connection and I my ISP doesn't seem to cope with R1 very well.So now I have switched back and using the R1 to connect all my devices to it as before I had the R1 as the main router(which was not getting used for all devices) and my other router to connect all my devices. Now I switched it and it works nicely! And yes I do understand the server issue problem.Anyways Thanks For The Help ! KHtechgadgets
Just one question Why would my ping spike up like this on the same server with the same distance? If before I could get 70-80 ms then why am I getting 100-150 ms?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 10, 2016 Administrators Share Posted April 10, 2016 Just one question Why would my ping spike up like this on the same server with the same distance? If before I could get 70-80 ms then why am I getting 100-150 ms? There are many servers in a cluster in the same location. Some may not be as stable as others. Use the temp ban feature to block those bad ones. Could be ISP congestion or local congestion as well if not using congestion control correctly.
