I pretty much know the basic with goefilter and congestion controll, just want to make sure i got all the setting right between my modem and the r1. So i've read that is best to enable the dmz on the modem, but it ask for "dmz host ip address" what should i enter?

Is there any crucial thing i need to change besides the basic?

What version are you on? On the later versions, in the device manager it tells you your host IP, so I recommend upgrading. You can look here, for how to enable DMZ. I Think the only other things you would need to change would be the congestion control :)

Im running .7, ive read the link. So basically you mess with dmz setting only if your nat tape is moderate or strick?

Mine say open so i guess dont worry about it?

I changed mine anyway. I have mine after my nighthawk router. Not sure how much it helped. It's not life or death if you do it wrong. You can always reset your other router.

Cheng, yes DMZ will only help if you don't have an open NAT.

One more thing is i u usually turn share access and ps4 100% when im using playing, should i select preemptive or reactive and whats the difference between the two?

I recommend using preemptive if the speeds you pay for are below 50mbits, use reactive otherwise.

Setting your Ps4 to 100% is a bit an overkill I suggest 20-40% range but it may depend on your connection. Probably the most important is setting anti-flood to 70% both ways.

I have slow connection, 5mb down and .7 upload. I turn ps4 to 100% and share access off just to make sure i get all the bandwidth when im playing, is that wrong?

Sean that sounds good to me although 20% for the playstation will be ample.

cheng, as long as no one at your home complains then that is fine :)
