kramtronix Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 So, I setup my Xbox as a device under "HOST FILTERING," and then set my "HOME" on the Geo-Filter. I then set the distance to about 800 miles, and yet somehow a player who lives 3000 miles away was able to join my lobby. Am I missing something? Clearly this was not allowed in the video demonstration I watched prior to purchasing.
UK_Wildcats_Fans Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 What game are you using? For BO3 and similar games, the geo filter will only filter the HOSTS. It does not filter the players that connect to that host. http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=gf_getting_started
Dillinger Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 The Duma can't control who can connect to what game host. That would be impossible as they are a third party that developed outside of any specific game or development company (Activision, Bungie, Etc) house. What the Geo Filter will do is control WHERE YOU CONNECT to a host. The closer the host, the shorter the distance and hopefully the lower the ping. For games outside of Black Ops3, that has been a consistent and winning formula.
F3arless27 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 turn strict mode on and that won't happen it only stays in the circle or the radius if you will of the geo filter
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 12, 2016 Administrators Posted February 12, 2016 Put strict on and turn ping assist to 0. You could also use different profiles for CoD as well.
