Dude4Him Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 The title states it all. In Destiny PvP matches you can see "ping bars" for connection status mine is always red with a small tick of red bar while everyelse is full green bar. In Destiny the Geo Filter rarely, if ever, shows hosts and never shown server connected to while in a match. In CoDAW I don't usually have this problem although while I do see hosts I rarely get to see servers or who is hosting current match.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Hi Dude4Him, It sounds like you have the old "xbox Live" or "Playstation Network" service still selected. You need to select "Xbox Live PA" or "Playstation Network PA" instead, make sure you replace the last one. Thanks
Dude4Him Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 It has been selected since I went to .7
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Erm ok and if you refresh the page do you seem reappear briefly? If so can you try disable anti-virus on your PC for 5mins and see if it stops it please
Dude4Him Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 This is what I am seeing with AV on and off:
Guest Netduma Fraser Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Hey Dude, I'm actually testing Destiny in order to optimise it for the Geo-filter. I will give an update asap regarding this
mr.victor Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Would like to know the best setting for Destiny as well. Seems like everyone is host in this game...
sncjez Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Hey Dude, I'm actually testing Destiny in order to optimise it for the Geo-filter. I will give an update asap regarding this Hi Fraser a little curious but any clues about this as crucible multiplayer seems to be very sporadic recently geo enabled or not or is just how bungie make everyone a host?
Guest Netduma Fraser Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Hey guys just a little update for you, once Iain is back and applies a few fixes to my router I'll be able to test it. Sorry for the delay! If its the same with the Geo-filter off it may be something on their end but once I get on and test i'll be able to see
Adam Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 one thing off the bat with destiny... to find the best experiences you need a much wider geo filter than you would use for cod
sncjez Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 cheers chaps yeah definately noticed widening geo does help
Dude4Him Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 OK thanks for the tip I will try widening the GEO filter for Crucible matches. With 300km I get put into lobbies on the other side of the US!
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Dude4Him, sorry if you said this already but if it sounds like you have stirct mode off. Try turning it on to stop that.
Dude4Him Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 Strict ON I still get connected to lobbies 3,000 miles away. I never really found a "sweet spot" for the GEO filter range. I just waited until a good lobby came up then I cold play. A good lobby being defined as not having one red tick for your in-game connection meter. So, you have to suffer through 4 - 20 matches then when you get a good lobby that is reversed. It's as bad a CoDAW lobbies in some regards. I play a lot of Destiny PvP and some day hope the R1 would be a benefit in getting good lobbies. Today, it is not.

sncjez Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Dude lately i've been getting players world wide outside my geo filter with stricked enabled managed to get round this by logging into destiny with geo and stricked enabled then rebooting the netduma this will lose your connection but when the netduma has reconnected again log back into destiny and this should work just warn anyone sharing the net when rebooting i think since bungie's last update things have been a bit hit and miss recently. Worth a try if your still getting outside players.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Jerry if you set ping assist to 0 and have strict mode on you should never have anything appear outside your filter. If you do please let me know and I'll investigate.
sncjez Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Did that Iian tried both still had open lobby's. On a more positive note seems enabling geo filter when in PS4 dashboard before logging into destiny has done the trick so no need to reboot the duma my problem was happening whilst enabling the geo in orbit a bit odd as it didn't do this before. But all good so far better get back to the home improvements.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Ok mate, well if it happens again please let me know & I'll help in chat.
Dude4Him Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 I tried this and got open lobbies. In West Florida keep getting Destiny PvP lobbies in Mexico City, Mexico, Puerto Rico & Seattle, Washington so it doesn't work with Destiny at all.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Dude are you available between 7-10pm GMT we can help 1 on 1 then if so?

We are in the process of working through everything and testing with a few people as well as fraser
