MrRelentlessUK reacted to Netduma Admin in NEW FEATURE ANNOUNCEMENT: GEO-FENCING
When we launched the Geo-Filter back in 2014, it changed the way gamers experienced matchmaking. By giving you control over the servers you play on, you were able to eliminate the biggest cause of lag in gaming; distance.
However, it's not always just a simple case of playing on the servers closest to your home - not all servers are made equal, and some can be lower quality despite being closer to you. We made Geo-Fencing to give you total control and solve this problem once and for all.
With Geo-Fencing you can draw multiple Geo-Filters around the servers you like and block the servers you don't, giving you unprecedented control over the matchmaking process. Draw filters around your region or country, or only draw around the best servers in the world - online matchmaking is now in your hands.
DumaOS 3.0 is the biggest update we have ever built, effectively doubling the feature set. Geo-Fencing is just one of many features coming to your router with DumaOS v3.0, so stay tuned for our next feature announcement.

MrRelentlessUK reacted to Bat 'n' Ball in Cloud Update
It's been over a month since COD MW was released and there doesn't seem to be any change to the cloud as far as an update is concerned. I still have misplaced servers, dedicated servers showing as peer servers etc. I have reported a few via the mis located server form.
While I’m on the subject, isn’t there a more elegant solution to this problem rather than relying on users having to report server inaccuracies?
Servers with the domain names vultr.com, choopa.net, gameservers.com and amazonaws.com are four I have come across which seem to be dedicated servers being hosted from professional data centers. Can’t the cloud updates be tuned in some way to automatically identify a dedicated server by means domain name filtering?
MrRelentlessUK reacted to Netduma Joseph in New Member of Development Team
I just recently joined the Netduma team as a Software Test Engineer.
I will be working on developing tools, for example, our cloud infrastructure to optimize
Black Ops 4 (I hear this is what you guys want to hear)
as well as other games. I'll also be watching this forum to provide
support with DumaOS.
Apart from that I love games. I've been playing a lot of Fortnite lately
but I'm also into RPG's like The Witcher (only The Wild Hunt though). I'm
looking forward to getting to know everyone and be part of the
MrRelentlessUK reacted to Netduma Fraser in Black Ops 4 Geo-Filter Cloud needs your help!
I am in the process of going through all the Black Ops 4 servers available to determine if they are classified correctly i.e. Peer/Dedicated and to ensure they're in the correct location. I believe most are correct. However, I need a lot of ID's/IP addresses in order to do a thorough job of making sure once a cloud update goes out that I've got everything accurate the first time around. So please if you get a chance to help provide the following information by following these instructions (Written for PS4 but works on Xbox & PC). Even if you only have time for one it will be very helpful.
Wait on the console dashboard Have the Geo-Filter set with Filtering Mode on, home location in the ocean, strict mode enabled. Auto Ping disabled. Boot up Black Ops 4, when it gets to the point where you have to click 'x', click x and then look at the Geo-Filter. You should see all the servers on the world map. Click on any one of these servers then collect (please only post in this format or it will be hard to follow):
Server location on the map
Your location Once you've collected this, quit the game application completely so you're back on the console dashboard and repeat. The more information we get from users the more accurate we can be when we do a cloud update. Post the collected information here. Thanks for your help!

I love it. I will make it my wife.
Much improved since the beta. But Blackout is laggy or has frame rate issues (or both), basically something isn't right with Blackout at the moment.
MrRelentlessUK reacted to Netduma Luke in DumaOS on the Netduma R1 is now in Open Beta!
We are delighted to announce that DumaOS on the Netduma R1 has now moved to Open Beta! If you would like to take part, please complete this form: DumaOS for R1 Sign Up
Open Beta means the firmware is available to anyone who wants it, but to stay ahead of any potential issues, we will be rolling DumaOS out in stages on a first come, first serve basis.
The first 50 people who submit the form will receive an email with a link to the firmware. Once we know everything is looking good for this initial set, we will email the next set, gradually increasing the number of users each time until the full rollout is complete.
EDIT: The staged roll out is now complete. Thank you for your patience. If you have signed up but did not receive the email with the download link then please CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM (if using Gmail, also check your 'Promotions' tab. In the rare event your email program has completely blocked our email, please either sign up again using a different email address, or post here to let us know. If you have not signed up yet, please do so here: DumaOS for R1 Sign Up
Reaching this point is a big step in the roadmap of DumaOS. We have some awesome features that we are already developing. These will be released in a series of ‘Milestones’ – we will be announcing more on this soon.
Many thanks to all our closed Beta Testers who have been absolutely amazing at getting us to this point. We couldn’t have done it without you guys.
Finally, a big thank you to all of you, the Duma Army, for your support and patience. We appreciate this was a long development road, far longer than we expected, but we never lost our resolve to bring DumaOS to you. We hope you love it.

How about this boys, most of you know the situation that us mods are in. Which is trying to keep things civil and still answer questions about the issue at hand. And most of you also know that we don't know anymore than you guys do about the release. None of us are employed by Netduma, we try to help out on the forum, don't get paid for it, just really liked the R1 when it first came out and helped people who were having issues with the set up in their home networks.
I don't think any of us in their position with the opportunity to partner with Netgear would have done anything different than they did. It is a business at the end of the day, and anyone in business knows that you do what is best for the business and growth of the product you market. Believe it or not we didn't know anything about the Netgear deal, until it was announced. Again we aren't on the inside of their business dealings, meetings etc, were just owners and paying customers like everyone else on here.
I myself am disappointed that the update for the R1 isn't out yet. As I've said all along I am a OG Duma fan as it has some things that the XR 500 does not. Yes I have both but my preference is still the R1 as the features that I'm really interested in are gone be on it, anti spike and anti jitter to be specific.
Again as much as we would like to "make them" tell us something, we can't. We're in the same boat as everyone else patiently or impatiently waiting for any word on the status or the actual release of the new OS. Until then we're just trying to keep the peace, which as you guys are well aware of is not an easy task at this point.

MrRelentlessUK reacted to BIG__DOG in Proof Virginmedia don't Care for their Customers.
I have reported this several times over the past 5 weeks, theres even more wiring hanging out and over the pavement, it is disgusting. I have had issues over the years with virgin so seeing this just enhances my predjudice towards them.

I totally get everyone’s frustrations over the delay, I was as excited for DumaOS as everyone else but I bet the Netduma team are as equally frustrated as the rest of us.
In my opinion the backwards compatibility will be a good thing, it gives people the option to find what works best for their particular setup. Some will prefer DumaOS and others will prefer the R1 in the same way people already prefer the XR500 over the current R1 OS and vice-versa. That choice can only be a good thing.
MrRelentlessUK reacted to Netduma Luke in R1 DumaOS Briefly Delayed
Hi Duma Army,
We need to announce that the free upgrade of our new software, DumaOS, for the Netduma R1 will need to be briefly delayed due to unexpected requirement from our Legal Team. Our lawyers have advised that DumaOS on the R1 must be backwards compatible.
In other words, if you install DumaOS onto the R1 you should always have the option to reinstall the older R1 firmware if you prefer to go back. We had not designed the DumaOS integration with the R1 to allow for this as DumaOS is superior. But based on legal advice we now must redo the integration to allow for this. It should take, at absolute most, a few more weeks. Nothing more as we have everything else working.
We realise you have been waiting patiently for this upgrade and this last-minute delay is frustrating. Our entire development team is working flat out to get this last bit fixed as soon as possible as we really want you all on DumaOS.
For what it's worth, we're as frustrated as you are as we can't wait to start making lots of new R-Apps (features) for you all.
We will get this last piece done as soon as possible and then it will be full steam ahead in delivering an explosion of new DumaOS features for you all.
Thank you for your continued support.
The ND Team

Thanks for keeping us informed. It was looking so close and we were all getting excited, but last minute little surprises always adds a little fun to the mix. Eventhough DumaOS brings new goodies to the table, I also think having the backwards compatibility and being able to roll back to the current firmware will also be appreciated by end users.
MrRelentlessUK reacted to Zennon in Base Ping Increased?!!!
Interleaving adds 8ms per depth, if you keep rebooting your modem the DLM in the cabinet will see these as errors and add more depth.
Leave your modem on 24/7 and in 9 days if you have no real errors DLM will set you back to fast path.
If you have enough errors for the DLM to deem unsatisfactory then it will add an interleaved depth for stability which comes at the cost of latency.
