  1. Launchers themselves have settings to adjust your download speeds and limits, i know steam and EA app do but they are the only two i use. Even though i have a netduma and 145mb connection it still only goes at the limit of the app. I can't imagine the people that run these launchers can enable every end user to rip their game downloads as fast as they would like without causing an issue, hence the limits.
  2. This is great to see
  3. Is it worth contacting my ISP over just while im on with ironing out creases?
  4. A couple hours later this appears to be about the best i can get it with congestion control always on, funny enough this is right back to the 70% for both up & down. The grouping of the network performance graph lines are much tighter and seemingly more under control - i can only put any other issues down to Dice servers Thanks for the advice gents
  5. Thanks Fraser, it was only while penning this i thought to run the benchmark so il start some testing today at the higher end like you suggest. So im looking to improve my ping under load to the best rating i can basically? The modem is one of those bog standard openreach modems from about 10 years ago. Yes we all connect to the R2 - im wired and the others are wifi.
  6. Im having issues playing Battlefield 1 since i started gaming again last month. I think its partly a Dice server issue but its seemingly being compounded by the wifi devices in the house tugging at the network too. Iv spent about 4 nights chopping and changing settings and i cant fix it its driving me nuts - have i got everything covered off on my netduma? Wired PC + 2 wifi devices (not mine) QOS ON - 70% slider as suggested, Congestion control = Always, 35% bandwidth allocation to PC (issue still present whether i share upload/download excess or not) Duma OS classified games on. No other geo filters/traffic rules setup. Ping to BF1 German servers is about 25-28ms So to provide some context here is a breakdown of the network performance graph: https://youtu.be/XkU26yuBI2Q Im getting the in game network performance graph popping up intermittently with the latency performance indicator explained at about 3:30 in the video, but no latency values indicated on the graph The values that appear to complain are "extrapolation offset" which drives no performance indicator (so i think that a dice thing) and "downstream" which is my connection - when video content is being consumed on one wifi devices i see network use of about 10- 20mb (of 70mb) and the graph flashes constantly - hit reg disappears, cant hit anyone etc It happens less often when i go via nordvpn to the netherlands servers and i generally gain a few ms on ping but im also not going through QOS at that point. Iv slid the sliders right down to 10/20% and all the way to 80/90%. Iv turned wifi off it still happens but with busy wifi it gets much worse. It happens at all times of day, full or empty servers. I have no other problems So yeah nothing currently making any sense and no problems reported on bt wholesale speedtest or diagnostic - However iv just ran a couple of connection benchmarks which states A+ for ping & speed, but only B/C for ping under load - is this my gremlin? Anything iv missed? Any settings to change?
  7. Got a reply from Nord CS - not what i wanted really might have a play around but i can live with the app
  8. That will be it, their wireguard protocol is nordlynx i wonder if they will provide a config for manual setup cheers Fraser!
  9. Bit the bullet on nordvpn this morning, for a quick start i used their app to connect and testing the speeds i was highly surprised at only a few mb less speed than normal - still 60+ out of 69-70mb download To cover off my computer & phone without needing the app every time Iv since setup hybrid VPN as per the nord guide https://support.nordvpn.com/Connectivity/Router/1047410932/Netduma-setup-with-NordVPN.htm But on manual setup im getting 10-15mb down and 12-14mb up I used the app to check which ovpn profile to download from https://nordvpn.com/ovpn/ iv tried both tcp & udp profiles and a couple of different server numbers (local) but get the same much slower result Am i missing something on the manual setup that is drastically reducing speed?
  10. Thats correct Fraser
  11. all has been fine tonight with the wifi and QOS off, however with QOS off now the adblocker does not block any ads. if you switch QOS back on adblock will start blocking ads again. I rebooted the r2 to make sure the app loaded correctly and disabled/re-enabled it but it wasnt until i put QOS back on it started to register anything on the graphs.
  12. 3.0.129 is looking good chaps, QOS off and wireless connectivity is fine.
  13. Sorry just catching up on this now - have you had any joy with the hotfix or has the big update now rolled out and i can update to that? If you still need people to try the hotfix i can do it today
  14. I haven't dived too much into many of the gaming features yet but the Adblocker and the sheer amount of requests its blocking is quite something!
  15. No worries chaps im happy to leave QOS on for now its not causing any issues, all my devices are connecting and iv played Battlefield tonight no issues. Il keep an eye on here tomorrow if anyone needs any futher info
  16. IPV6 off in LAN & WAN QOS on wireless connects fine, with QOS off it does not like it
  17. @Netduma Fraser Yeah i dont run QOS all the time so i turned it off not really thinking! Always going to be bumps in the road, glad i dont have to swap any more cables or routers around today though lol
  18. Hi all Fraser - i tried that - didnt work either I retraced my steps like @jayjrlz suggested, i had initially turned off QOS under congestion control as i just wanted to get up & running. Turning QOS back on has allowed me to get connections to my wireless devices - is this intentional? I can turn off QOS on my R1 and not lose wifi connectivity. Saved me a few more minutes doing a factory reset anyway!
  19. Iv attempted changing both 2.4 & 5ghz channels, applying settings, rebooting, and this didnt change anything Iv setup a guest network with a different name and password and i get the same exclamation mark over the wifi symbol and "no internet connection" error Phone is set to automatically assign IP/subnet mask/router - i just turn on wifi put in a password and away it goes usually No biggy, My trusty R1 is right here @Netduma Iain England iv tried a few channels - unless there is a specific channel you want me to try im happy to stay on my R1 this weekend
  20. Iv run that through a couple of times Fraser, no joy im afraid. Although the exclamation mark does go away, im not getting any data to my device (airplane mode on, wifi on connected to R2) Just to confirm, i disabled wifi, saved and rebooted r2, re-enabled wifi saved and rebooted r2. Had a quick look through my R1 wireless settings, only difference is encryption WPA-PSK and channel number.
  21. Yeah so my over the wifi symbol on both iphone and imac - i dont connect wireless from my gaming rig. Yep all antennas are screwed in, il give that a go Fraser thanks
  22. Got my R2 this afternoon, managed to get a wired connection going fine. Gone to get wifi going and im getting an exclamation mark on them and "no internet connection" error probably missed something really easy but - anyone offer a quick fix? toggled 2.4/5.0 mirror on/off, tried them both independently, changed the channels they were sat on, changed encryption type, rebooted the modem, cant seem to get anywhere!
  23. Great news, signed up for beta. Well done all
  24. i tried Vyper and the speeds/ping to european EA servers were terrible. Not what i was looking for from "the fastest" vpn. I need to get on and try a couple more
