Ubiquiti Access Points don't work with Netduma?
thisisreallife replied to thisisreallife's topic in Netduma R2 Support
What do you mean connected to the correct port? I've got an ethernet wire going from one of the Netduma ports (port 3 on the router) to port 1 on the TP link 5 port switch -
Before having a Netduma R2 my set up was like this: Virgin Media Router - TP LINK 5 Port Switch - 3 Ubiquiti Access Points around the house. However when I plug the Netduma between the Virgin router and the TP LINK the access points don't work at all. Any idea why this is? The Netduma isn't strong WiFi wise and my house has a lot of floors and I simply lose connection when I'm in my Loft or other corners of the house so I need to get these access points working ASAP.

FIRMWARE: 3.3.308 Smart QoS (Hit Detection)

Hello! Can I also have early access to the beta? -
Thanks for the help both. So what's the point in me even naming my devices if they can change ip address and then change in my device list? The reason why I am is because a lot of devices appeared as the default name 'unknown', so to fix this I plugged my devices in 1 by 1 and renamed then. Now I've logged on and I've got 5 devices called unknown. Is there any downside to reserving every ip address on my router?

So I set up the Netduma for the first time yesterday. Here's my scenario: I set up a device, let's say it's my LGTV. I only have one LG TV in the house so I can't be getting it mixed up with any else in my house. And also it's set up wired ethernet. So the LG TV yesterday went offline and then today another LG TV appeared but this time it's created a new MAC address and a new IP address. Why is this happening? This has happened for around 4 or 5 of my devices. Can I assign a IP address to every single device in my house? Is this what's called a static ip? Is there any downside to doing this and will this fix my issue?

I've noticed with all 3 phones in my house, they all appear twice under Device Manager. However one says wired and one says wireless. The wireless is obviously the correct one because it has IP Address and says it's online, the wired one has no IP address and says its offline. What's strange is that if I delete the wired one, it will reappear after a few minutes. All the phones we are using are Google Pixels..if that makes a difference. I've noticed that they both have two different MAC Addresses also. Any idea why this is happening? I would like to just have one under the Device Manager if possible. I have attached a image

Another idea. If worst comes to worse and I can't get your resolved. Can I just connect the switch back into the Virgin router and have it running off the Virgin router? The only devices that will be connecting to it will be maybe one mobile phone and a Google Nest Doorbell. So that shouldn't affect my connection when gaming as often

Hello! Do you mean the TP Link 5 Port Gigabit Desktop Switch? The one I've got actually has a wire that plugs into the back on the switch, which actually connects to a plug. It looks like this attached(but with a UK plug not American plug). Unless you mean something else?. Can you send me a link of the model you mean please

Hello friend. Sorry I've been really busy. So I disconnected the TP link with the 3 access points, and connected them. Waited 30 seconds and the name appeared on my WiFi list. I connected to it, and then around 30 seconds to a minute, it disconnected and then didn't appear again. Here is the log: Thank you! log-1663536874468.txt

Thanks for response! Well something strange happened. I connected the TP LINK (which has the 3 Ubi devices) to the Netduma R2, and it does appear. But then after around 5 minutes it will cut off and disappear from my WiFi. Any idea why this is happening? It doesn't appear at all after this. I remember when the engineer first did it set up the Ubis he did it over 5Ghz because it kept on cutting off when it was on 2.4. Do I need to change something on the devices under Netduma to ensure its 5Ghz only? I turned 2.4 off but then a whole bunch of other devices stopped working (is this normal?).

Hello, so my Netduma R2 arrived today and I've been setting it up. Everything is good to go, if you look at the image on the first post, the Netduma lies between the Virgin Superhub 4 and the TP Link 5 Port. Now the way the engineer did everything previously when he set everything up (before I had a Netduma) was that the Ubiquiti (lets call it Ubi) Access Points had their own WIFI name, so essentially I had two WIFIs to choose from; the original Virgin Media one, and the Ubi one. I never once connected to the Virgin Media once he set everything up. So now I've got it all set up, I have three WIFIs I can connect to, the Virgin Media one (which I've now put in Modem mode), the Netduma R2 and the Ubi one. So which one do I connect to on my phone and devices? Do I connect to Netduma or Ubi? You also said to disable WiFi on the R2. I presume I do that by Network Settings > WIFI > Untick 'Enable 2.5/5ghs Wifi' ? When I do that, both my Netduma and Ubi turns off. If I disable WIFI on my R2, I can't access the DUMA OS 192 page. I'm a bit confused.

Hi all, So I want to purchase a R2. I currently have a Superhub 4. And I want to put that router into Modem/Bridge mode and then connect the Netduma R2 to it instead. BUT. My house got renovated a few months ago and in that process we ended up getting these installed on 3 levels of my house: They're called Ubiquiti access points. Now I don't know much about these but here is a link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ubiquiti-UniFi-Lite-Access-Point/dp/B08T6CKG5B. I'm not sure if it's exactly this model but it looks like that. Now, what I do know is that my wiring is like this currently: Superhub 4 > TP Link 5 Port Gigabit Desktop Switch (model TL-SG1005p) > D-Link Ethernet Port Hub (model DGS-108) > Lots of Devices The D-Link Ethernet Port Hub basically will have a LOT of Ethernet wires connected to it. I have the PS5, the Laptop, Smart TVs, 3 Ubiquiti Access Points, Chromecast, 2 Sky TVs and other stuff. Literally the only WIFI we have is 2 mobile phones. So now I want a Netduma, and I have a few questions: Firstly I want to know if the Netduma works well with Virgin/Superhub 4? Did it make your experience better or worse or the same? Honest answers please! Secondly, I literally want the Netduma just for the OS. I'll obviously slot the Netduma in between the Superhub 4 and the TP Link 5. And then to be safe, I'll plug PS5 via ethernet straight into the Netduma. Everything else will be laid out the same. So if I buy a Netduma R2 and set it up, is everything else still going to work fine? I'll want everything that's wired connected to the Netduma R2, and the two mobile phones connected via WiFi to the Ubiquity Access Points. Is that ok? I want the Access Points working the same as intended. I'll hate it if I buy the Netduma and now the 'wifi has gone off around the house' I'll get a yelling at from every family member. Thank you!

Ping Test (Under Load) - Always getting C rating
thisisreallife replied to thisisreallife's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Just letting everyone know that this is still happening for me. Constantly getting a C rating, unless I do it manually, where I will get a A* rating. So I'm not sure..is my true rating a C or a A*? Picture uploaded. Any idea on how to fix this issue? What should I do? -

Is there a YouTube video on how to do this? Sorry I've never done it before. Does this mean nothing can ever connect to my sky router? The reason why I ask is because I work from home, and for some reason my work laptop does not connect to netduma. Only sky. Maybe it's because it's a government laptop and has some really strong security layers? -

Im sorry, but it's just set up normally? As in the Sky plugs into the phone line, and there's a Ethernet connected to the R2? Is Sky a bad company to be with? -

Are these under WAN settings? If so, these are my settings, please note I've never touched these settings as I don't really understand what they are. Also my setup is a Sky Router and a Ethernet wire to the Netduma R2. Other devices are laptop (wireless), 2 mobile phones, and PS4 (which connects to a Power-line adapter, which then connects to the R2) -

No. But I rarely get different results in my speed. Usually my speed is 33mb download. But sometimes it gives me 20 or 25. But then it's back to 33. No idea why? -

Hello, Thanks for your response. Here is the image overall (called Ping Test), the ones at the bottom highlighted yellow are the ones I did manually..compared to all the automatic ones. I've also uploaded a 'automatic one' done at 6PM where I got a C rating. And then the manual one one minute later where I got a A* rating. -
Ping Test (Under Load) - Always getting C rating

To update on this topic. When I did my my auto set up CC, (on one of the new unreleased firmware) it told me to have a download and a upload of 1%. This caused issues for me, so I downgraded back to the released firmware, and then auto Set up told me to set it as something around 50 down, 40 up. However, my Ping Benchmark Under Load test keeps giving me C or D. So I decided to change my CC to 70 up and 70 down, and did another Connection Benchmark test, this time it gave me a rating of A*. Great, right? However, then I went to sleep, woke up and checked the scheduled tests and it's now giving me a C or D rating? How can I give me A* during the evening when there's 2 mobile phones, a PS4 and a laptop connected to the R2, yet gives me a D rating at 2am when no devices are connected to the R2? I've now kept me CC on 70% download, and 90% upload. Did another test and got A*. But I fear this will drop back down to C or D later on during the day? EDIT: I think I've found a bug with the software. It's 3pm here right now, and I have the Connection Benchmark to do a auto test once every hour. Well when it hit the hour, it did an auto test and I got a Ping Benchmark Under Load result of D. Then one minute later I did it manually and got a rating of A*. It seems like when I do it manually I get A*, when the router performs a test automatically I get a rating of C or D. Why is this? -

Any idea why this is? Factory reset my router, so everything is basically brand new. I've set scheduled tests every 2 hours, only the very first test with Ping Test Under Load A+ rating, every other one is now C or D rating. -
