MackMurder got a reaction from Soydere in NEW R3 FIRMWARE - DumaOS 4.0.540
    @Netduma Fraser
So I unplugged my duma 3 for a couple months till your guys firmware was sorted out since it wouldnt update on my unit when it was first released. Today I Plugged my duma back in. Updated firmware. (It actually worked)  Turned off computer. Came back a couple hours later. Now it wont boot up my geofilter or anything. All i get is this screen.  If i click continue anyways
None of my allowed servers or denied are there. None of my devices are there
Any solutions for this one? Getting tired of having to come to the forums everytime i want to use this product. Its getting old.

Wasnt able to get on yesterday.
    Trying to sort it now.
What do you mean in Device Manager give the PC a PlayStation device type.
I can rename the PC but cant find anywhere to turn it into a PlayStation device type.

MackMurder got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in WIFI is terrible on duma R3. Any suggestions? Will mesh system make it better?
Ok. Tried the easiest thing first, found a video for Eero being put into bridge mode with the Duma as prime router so will see how this goes for the next couple days.👍

You'd have to consult the eero manual about how to use it behind a router, we don't have specific support for mesh but I believe some people have used it.
    For WiFi try this:
Split the bands, give 2.4/5GHz different names and apply - you'll want to connect to 5GHz specifically for speeds, 2.4GHz for stability Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel and change to that Experiment with the widths to see what gives better results Ensure it's in an elevated position - not on a metal surface Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible Set the antennae to this position _ | | _

It's an authentication server required for online play and absolutely shouldn't be banned - I'm actually surprised you were able to, usually we block you doing that for these servers so I'll raise that with the team, who knows how many other people have done this! Thanks for the report!
The thing with Ping Heatmap is that games update their servers way more than you would think and so it's almost impossible for it to be 100% accurate, 100% of the time which is why we usually reserve doing any updates for it when a game update has happened when it's more likely there has been a change or when a customer reports it, now you've reported it I'll pass it on for an update.
The PC into PlayStation is an old trick, it isn't necessary to do but some people find they have a better experience doing so - it's basically DPI vs Ports. DPI has the potential to become out of date whereas the ports won't be.

Unfortunately when you're further away from servers it will be harder to get good games and it will definitely be impacted by the time of day, I suspect during peak times it'll be much easier to get the servers you want. As it gets closer to the next CoD release as well I think it'll get easier as more people return. Keep at it and of course more updates will come that can hopefully help further.

just a suggestion, but instead of making a big geofence box, keep it smaller to the areas that would connect to the closet server to you (seattle). then make little boxes where the chicago, northern california, and utah servers are located so the game has at least 4 different servers it can look for games on. draw small square boxes so those servers are allowed.
I live in the middle of the US and have drawn a box that basically connects to Dallas, Chicago, St Louis, or Atlanta servers but I drew a small box for Utah and Seattle because later at night it wont find games as easily sometimes. When I tried to create a geofence with only the Dallas server, it would take forever to find games and sometimes when it did, it would not connect to the dallas server do that was pointless. and yes I have ping assist set to ZERO.
Every internet provider if different and every scenario is going to be different for each person so it may take a bit of trial and error. The DumaOS software is a nice piece of software but there are going to be places where people live that nothing is going to help them reduce their ping.  Best of luck to you.

@MackMurderWhat I can tell you is that when it comes to wifi range netduma is definitely not on top so if you need something with range you're typically always going to need to add a mesh system/AP. There's just no way around it as signal bands can't artificially cross all walls especially with interference devices like metal/microwaves etc.

@MackMurderI can't speak for Tp link archer ax11000 as I don't own one but from my experience I used netgear and tp link routers and they do ok job but they just don't give you control/ability to choose nearest servers which matters at large when it comes to gaming as ping is king. That's why you don't see any pro player rushing with his guts if he knows he has a high ping in any competitive game there forced to play a specific way which at large isn't there fault but mitigating those issues is all you can do and using the geofilter helps do that which is netduma real cake.
