  1. Got an error when I tried to upgrade. Currently power cycling to try to restore internet. edit: currently upgrading. Had to switch from edge to chrome.
  2. Sounds good
  3. But I finally got this thing mostly working. Poor WiFi performance was alleviated by an older router in AP mode. More wires than I’d like but eh. Can’t win em all I suppose. Only thing that’s bugging out on me now is the geofilter. I’m on PC. Previously, all I had to do was change my PC to a game console for the geofilter to work, but it’s not filtering at all. Settings tab on the geofilter page has been left untouched so I have geo-latency on, I’m not using ping assist and I’m in strict mode with fast search disabled. Ping assist set to 40 since my average ping is 30. Also, on the XR1000, my COD searches start at <22ms and I’m usually on a game before it bits 50ms. With the R3, they’re starting at <48ms and usually not in a game til it hits 73ms. A+ bufferbloat on the R3 tho which is nice.
  4. I thought I was tripping earlier lol. Finally got mine in an ok state was amped to lock in my settings only to realize that wasn’t an option. Bit bummed. Hopefully it’s high up on the list.
  5. I FINALLY got my router about 90% of the way to where I want it and now I too am dealing with intermittent dropouts over LAN. It was just wifi before.
  6. You’re appreciated more than you know, man. I don’t think any of the irritation is directed towards you. You’re just the main face of the forum so it may appear that way. We know you guys are doing all that you can.
  7. Mine barely worked as a router when all I did during initial setup was add my wifi network. No QOS, no geofilter, literally nothing else besides wifi. Then, I tried the same with IPv6 disabled. Then, I tried just disabling IPv6 and setting up wifi post-initial setup. Factory resets between. Thing just doesn’t work right and no one here is going to convince me otherwise.
  8. Mine didn't work properly out of the box. Literally zero configurations and I had poor wifi, dropped connections, etc. Tinkering made things no better. Factory resets didn't make things better. I've tried everything I've read on these forums to no avail. Multiple configs with factory resets between, new cables, etc. I've been configuring routers for 20 years. DumaOS is extremely user-friendly to anyone with an ounce of experience navigating router GUIs. There's something broken and it's NOT user error. Otherwise, the complaints wouldn't be so similar and there wouldn't be so many of them. If it was user error, there'd be no need for an update for anything more than security fixes and everything going on COULD be fixed with just changing some settings around. That's not the case. Just because YOUR issues are non-existent or cause minimal harm to your network to the point that they can mostly be ignored, that does not exclude the possibility that some units could have been shipped with faulty hardware or that the backend software just isn't functioning as expected for the average end-user on all units. The silicon world is finicky in that way. They can press 100K chips and 10% have issues. Of those 10% (10K people), only 2000 have issues that are deemed worth signing up on a forum for. The other 8000 just live with it or replace the unit while random people from the 90K with working units sign up for the same forum to tell the vocal minority they're wrong.
  9. Yup. Definitely outside of mine but if the update doesn’t fix the issue, I’ll fight tooth n nail to get my money back for a nonfunctional product or a replacement at minimum.
  10. Coordinating with the community is great however, a lot of us aren’t used to having these type of instabilities with routers that cost this much. Some people have already sold or given their old routers away so they’re stuck with a half-working device. And then there’s me, with a perfectly working XR1000 while my R3 cosplays as a $233 paperweight til an update drops that HOPEFULLY fixes everything and allows me to return the XR1000 within its return window since I don’t need 2 routers in my household. I undoubtedly would’ve already returned this thing if it wasn’t for my ability to come here and get updates from the team. However, good post-launch communication doesn’t absolve them from the fact that this has been a shaky release. People reserve the right to complain about things they’ve paid for. Complaints literally make products better when manufacturers care about reviews which the Duma team seems to do. Again, the post-launch communication is the only reason the R3 is even still in my house.
  11. What’s the timetable looking like? My return window for my XR1000 and R3 are both up the last day of this month. Need to know which one is going back.
  12. I've factory reset 9-10 during the two tweak sessions I had with the R3 last week. My congestion control wouldnt work even if it was the only thing I touched during or after initial setup. I appreciate all of your help but Im back on the XR1000 til new FW drops. With the way my schedule is setup, it's too much of a hassle to do it during the week. I'll try Friday morning or when the new FW drops. Whichever happens first. They were all connected. 3 hardwired and 15 wireless.
  13. No VPN, IPV6 disabled, speedtest.net looked similar. In-game search was also starting at <57ms. Swapped back over to the XR1000 and it immediately went down to <25ms. I'll be using this until the R3 gets new FW
  14. Disabled during initial setup.
  15. Congestion set to 70% of 500, no priorities, no reservations. f87a1f807f35f18ddbe9e1b4062ecf40.mp4
  16. I tested before I did that as well. Same deal. I’ll do it now and record it to show you
  17. Doubtful but I didn’t check. If it were coming from the line, the XR1000 would give me similar or worse performance. I can swap back to my XR1000 and have better wifi and bufferbloat right now but I’m holding out for a FW update. I’ve factory reset this thing 9-10 times. I’m done tinkering for now. I’ve been dealing with routers for 15 years and never had one give me so many issues out of the box and I’ve bricked many over the years with 3rd party firmware and random setups for science lol. I have confidence in the Duma team but not much in the Netgear team since they seemingly are always at odds. Guess we’ll see what happens.
  18. 1. No 2. No 3. No 4. No priorities set. Just the favorites tab with ports 1-65535 like in the OP. When I disable that and use a profile with the standard gaming > streaming > general web priority setup, web gets triggered.
  19. Did that and still no dice. I'm about to do another factory reset. QOS isnt activating at all. 78a8a156db4c6f83e8ea6c76ba642a55.mp4
  20. Slow speeds and/or complete loss of connection. No more than 25mbps down atm. Well over 200mbps down consistently from the XR1000 so I know it's not the dongle. I did a factory reset last night that seems to have fixed this particular issue, though. Will report back if the connection starts to drop again.
  21. Factory Reset twice but didnt get the "Take this Tour" prompt either time.
  22. I'll give this a shot as soon as everyone's asleep.
  23. Indeed. Factory reset is out of the question. It's a Friday night and I have a house full of people winding down from the week. I've factory reset twice today and something breaks every time on .23 FW
  24. I'll be glad when optimization works for me. I tried setting mine and turning on speed test bypass still get almost my full speeds and +150ms or more of bufferbloat on the download side and +60ms on upload. Both numbers were in the 30s on my XR1000
  25. From my router to my wife's computer and laptop in her office is about 25 feet. I've even gone through the trouble of setting up a hardwired XR450 as an AP and it's about 15 feet from her office. No dice. But if I swap back to the XR1000, her PC works perfectly via wifi. I dont want to run any cable thru my house to bandaid the issue but I'm at wit's end. My DHCP is .2-.250. I have a reservation for the XR450 that's 192.168.77.2 and it keeps dropping connection and not being shown in the Device Manager. Is it a throughput or software/firmware issue?
