CrAzY_V3t3rAn reacted to Netduma Fraser in WiFi Range Comparison R3 & XR500
I live on a full ground floor, between the router and the furthest point there are 3 fairly thick walls in the way and I still get full bars of signal just to give you an idea.

It's very hard to do that because everyone's setup/home environment will be different, there may be more obstacles which might limit the range. I'd say the hardware on the R3 for WiFi is better than the XR500 and more akin to the XR1000.

When that happens grab the log from the System Information page using a wired device and post it here please

Depends what you mean by disadvantage, you'd lose any 3.3 features/changes but other than that you'd be fine to

I think the ping was probably correct and the server was undergoing heavy load at the time which is why it was higher in game than on the Geo. UPnP is enabled by default yes, in most cases I'd generally suggest just leaving it on to avoid any issues. The security updates are for any vulnerabilities that have been reported in general to the router industry and fixed before they become public and they don't have anything on UPnP so it'll be fine!

Where are you based approximately - which ping is more accurately what you would expect from the Florida server generally?

We don't give out any ETAs unfortunately so I couldn't say. What's the issue for CoD on Heatmap? We can sort that with a cloud update if needed

That would be correct.. Enable IPV6 on the XR500 and see how it goes.. I dont think you have to reboot unless you feel you need too..
This did work with my Xbox Series X before.. Tomorrow I will hook up my XR500 to see if it still does work like this and report back..
When enabling IPV6 dont use upnp or port forwarding..and no DMZ.. You should obtain an Open NAT.. In the IPV6 section make sure you select Open.. It usually is towards the bottom of the IPV6 setup.. Only do this in the IPV6 setup..
Again this has worked on my Xbox.. If your on PC im not 100% sure it will work the same.. But give it ago! You have nothing to lose..
You might also have to make sure your PC has IPV6 ICMP enabled.. That would be on your PC and not your router.. It uses ICMP to send messages for IPV6 connectivity..
Good luck!
Zippy.

The fact you're getting timeouts after the first response indicates there is more than one hop which could indicate you do have a CG-NAT.
If this is the case the only solutions are:
Secure a static public IP from your ISP - this is something that they would usually charge for Change ISP to one that doesn't use CG-NAT -

Have you ever had an Open NAT with the internet provider you're on currently? It sounds like you're on a CG-NAT which there is a test for at the bottom of this article https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000076587-dumaos-optimal-settings-guide-open-nat

We need to do an update, I believe the testing server it's using is out of date and as the server was hardcoded we need an update to change it. I'd suggest changing speeds/Congestion Control manually for the moment.

You can ignore that, it's just the way the naming worked for it

As above we're based in the UK and we don't do any military discounts in this country

No Army discounts, in fact you get charged more. Only Marines get the discount, sucks to suck. LOL.... Kidding of course.
They are a UK based company so not sure if they do Vet discounts, I saw nothing anywhere about them on the web.
Semper Fi...

@vvvPlease don't spam all the new topics.
For your information, there is a FW in early access delta version for the R3. You can simply access it by requesting @Netduma Fraser
