  1. We were told not to worry that the team would have released the v4 also for R2 How is possible that after 2 full year (March 2023), the V4 stable is still non available for R2. How long are you guys beta testing this thing? for 1-2 years If it's not ready so be it, but I haven't seen very much commitment to bring the V4 stable on R2 which wasn't cheap. Forcing people to buy R3 because software features that improves game experience. Maybe it just an hardware limitation, i'm ok with it, just full transparency... I wouldn't be upset if you would just say "Hey 3.3 would be the last stable update for R2, if you wish more the R3 is the next step. thank you", rather than "oh we are working on it" beta testing for how many years now?? EDIT: Forgot to mention that I applied for beta testing and the last bets version worked without much troubles delivering a better gaming experience but I can also see people struggling with the firmware and I really feel bad for them because that could have been me.
  2. Can I be added pls?
  3. I recently saw that the R3 dropped and it should have fixed all the weakness that the wifi has. but i'm very surprised that there is still no support for 2.5gb Wan and atleast 1x 2.5gb lan port since until the R4 would likely be 3 to 4 years down the line, but i degress. When do we need to expect update OS 4.0 for Netduma R2? I expect it to be a couple of months because R3 needs to be sold, before starting to roll out eventually the update. Will the update be for also Netduma R2 or it will never be available for the device we paid? Asking because last time I checked the beta updates for R2 were still 3.xxx updates. If not I will probably jump the boat and go back to the Edge Router which I still own. Before hitting me with "We have no current informations or ETA if or when the update will reach R2" ask the developer team since you are in touch and they definitely have already roadmap for all the Netduma products. We as costumer paid for your products, atleast we deserve some clarification if the OS 4 will reach our R2...
  4. Yeah, at the end went for Ghostery for Google Chrome and Revanced Youtube for my android devices. It was more than i asked and got more features. A small heads up: I, like most of you, am techy so those things are pretty regular for us. For my GF i found 12 months premiums for like 25$/€ I might go with that aswell in the next feature when my android apps stops working so also my TV is covered by premium and can avoid ads at all
  5. Yeah, they could easily market Netduma R3 with basic feautures and Netduma R3 pro with sfp port and atleast 1x 2,5gb and good wifi, you would be amazed on how many people would spend 500€ for R3 pro because we already spent so much money on GPU that a good modem sounds good because you can easily make it future proof... (with or without sfp ports) just anything that's atleast support 2.5gbs wan and lan I know some providers on my country are selling 2,5gbps connection with modem that doesn't have single 2,5gbps lan ports, only 1 gbps so of course people are ditching that and buying their own modem/router/ap configuration
  6. Yeah the problem is that you are bound to 1 GB LAN ports wich is the bottleneck. As far as Rules now atleast in Europe you can request ISP ONT or you can provide one yourself, so you can avoid the first part and the Router you can pick whatever, That's why I was pointing that 1x 2.5 gbps lan and 1x2,5gbps wan + 3x 1 gbbps would be already a very good improvement and step in the right direction. Nobody expects R3 to have 10 G ports, but 2,5g seems more reasonable, for the wifi part if is not good enough I can keep using another the router as AP exactly like i'm doing right now. Not the most elegant solution but works way better than R2 wifi. I would totally ditch the wifi part in exchange of the 2,5gbps lan port
  7. People who invest 200€ in a router are most probably people who are already connected to FTTH rather than FTTC. Just launch a small survey, you would be surprised how many people can afford a good pc and fiber connection for gaming. Me and you are just numbers. Big cities have the fiber, while small places don't. I don't live in a big city but Europe has approved founds to connect more people to the fiber and 2,5gbps plans are more and more common as the same price as Vdsl connections because. How long this router has been out? 2-3 years? The next one definitely need a better wifi (r2 is garbage) and a 2.5gbps port would make the product future proof rather than already obsolete when it comes out. At this point I would rather pay for a Netgear with Dumaos so I can have a powerful router with dumaos features...
  8. Application Name: War Thunder Device used for the capture: PC Any other comments: I already contacted the technical support of the game to let them know that they page with the portfowarding port needs to be updated. and the current DPI for the game in Netduma OS need to be adjusted to those changes. Tested Manually ports vs War Thunder (preset), the preset doesn't cover all the ports wich results in UDP packets not being prioritize in the meantime those are my captures. WT RU.pcapng WT 3 EU.pcapng WT 2 EU.pcapng WT 1 EU.pcapng
  9. Of course I can't speak for everyone but where I'm From but if you look at the stats of my country (Italy) compared to the rest of the World you get a better picture. Right now they are easily selling 2.5 GBPS connection as basic package for 19.99€ So It would make Sense to Make Netduma R3, a premium product, already 2.5 gbps proof for those who invest those money in gaming, Otherwise Wich netgear router supports DumaOS and has atleast 1x 2.5gbps lan port? 10. For the love of God, we have already 10gbps connections, can we have atleast 1 LAN 2,5gbps port for the next NETDUMA R3 and if you can fix the WIfi or I'll rather buy another router just for that like I'm doing now
  11. Has already said the DumaOs already has that and to more clear i tried both SQM by EdgeRouter and QoS (priority and ports) on r2 and works way better for gaming the Netduma R2
  12. Yeah, no problem I can provide multiple capture of multiple matches also devided in Server choices. EU, RU, US, SA this could get a clearer picture of what's packets and ports are being used. EDIT: I still asked War Thunder Technical support to update their port informations because now seams a little bit out of date. https://support.gaijin.net/hc/en-us/articles/200070211--War-Thunder-game-ports like the ports UDP 16172 is not used anymore, while before it was used in every single match
  13. Situation: I tried the new War Thunder game options since it was recently added In the Game List and i'm gratefull for that (since I requested it). On the Side I've keep all the ports used by the game, basically I was just creating rules for the ports used by the game. Problem: War Thunder option is not correct, everytime I use it (without any other prioritazion applied) I experience lag a basic network issues exactly like when congestion control is off. I tried again with War thunder tag disabled in prioritization and only applied the rules that the game uses https://support.gaijin.net/hc/en-us/articles/200070211--War-Thunder-game-ports and worked like always without any trouble and without issues. Suggestion: War Thunder tag is not correct and for the time being you are better off using the UDP ports suggested on the official site of the game. Either the DPI system got the packets wrong or you need to manually tell the system with ports are being used. I've used Wireshark to double check the ports in the past to make sure I wasn't just using random ports. My firmware is R2 3.3.280
  14. Which means the new DPI thing is not in the Netduma R2 but rather you will have to update the list of game, but that's the opposite of what the video you guys published a month ago says.
  15. I updated the R2 to the latest firmware 3.3.280 that should have a new DPI engine but still War thunder is not recognized. It's a game that has been out since 2014 and became popular in the last 3-4 years I already sent my Wireshark capture around 7-8 months ago. Do I need to keep adding manually the ports and hope it works correctly or somebody can explain to me how the new DPI engine should be better at adding game by itself?
  18. WiFi is poor, really. My old cheap isp modem from does it better both speed and signal and keep in mind I'm using it as Access Point directly connected to the R2 If you know a little bit of networking you could use your router as AP or if you have money to throw you could just buy an access point
Fai come vuoi. Buona giornata.
  22. Why would you waste money on an asus gaming router if all you need is SQM or bufferbloat control? Edgerouter does it perfectly. If R2 is faulty then it's unfortunate, but if the problem is not the router by the configuration you will have problems no matter wich router will you buy
  23. Is your R2 showing up in your Fritz as dumaos in your dhcp and wired connected devices? If not you probably got DMZ wrong
  25. 1. yes. Software wise there is not much to do about that, That's why i said R3 as next hardware upgrade 2. That should be easy to code, it's already there but not for the consumer 3. The thing is that most of Motherboards have now 2,5gb ports and R3 would make it future proof. It's a gaming router that already cost around 200$ pretty sure most of the people would be happy to have a 2.5gb ports instead of using other routers 4. As now the Geofilter list can't be modified by the consumers, it would be cool if we were able to make it work regardless if the game is in the list or not. Right now only works for some games, but if we know the server or R2 would be able to save the list of the one used and exclude the one with biggest ping 5. Yes, you can manually add those ports but as for now they are not recognized as gaming traffic, but unknown traffic so the distribuition based on games wouldn't make sense. As A side note would be cool if R2 with a software could just scan the exe of the game and in 1-2 weeks could automatically create rules for ports that are used. This would definitely help the devs, speeding up times and every consumer would be happy. Software could do like register all ports used by game.exe (example) in 1-2 weeks of gaming it would be able to map those ports and send them to the R2 to be added automatically.
