Thanks for all the feedback fellas, the whole idea of the video was to put aside doubts and prevent any letdowns the XR500 may of come with. By no means is it to bash or to be against buying the XR500 but to empower your mind with an informative decision.

If you recall, the legal issue was that we found out we had to make sure the R1 would be backwards compatible. So if you installed DumaOS and then wanted to revert back to the original R1 firmware, you could. This was a huge curve ball for us as we had to redesign how DumaOS connected into the R1.
As is no doubt evident now, it  turned out to be a bigger task than we expected. Thankfully, we've overcome it and we're now in the final stages of beta testing!

I’m currently beta testing DumaOS on the R1, I was also privileged to be involved in the XR500 & XR700 testing phases. DumaOS is beautiful & a fantastic piece of software that will enhance your gaming experience. DumaOS performs on the R1 as well as it does on the more powerful Netgear routers. Congratulations to the Netduma team, you should be proud of what you’ve achieved. Now’s the time to look forward to the imminent release, don't dwell on the past, it's been a long wait but it will be worth it, especially as it’s FREE!

I'm a current beta tester and I can confirm it is real and does work just as promised. Netduma is not lying, please refrain from using that language on the forums.

We have some good news to share: DumaOS for the Netduma R1 is now in the final stages of beta testing!
As many of you know, this has taken so much longer than we anticipated, but our developers have now resolved all the major issues. This means that DumaOS for the R1 is stable and crucially, backwards compatible, so you can go back to the original R1 firmware if you prefer. A big thank you to all the beta testers who worked tirelessly with us to get to this point.
We are tidying up some last loose ends to make it ready for full release. We will let you know it is ready to download across all our media platforms. Be sure to sign up to the DumaOS mailing list so you are the first to know when it's out.
    Stay tuned!

It'll be coming out really soon - sorry for the delay! There's no exact launch date as we don't want to miss it and disappoint everyone again, but it's very nearly ready.

We all hope you enjoy it!

It's been common knowledge for years that the Netduma can't control the opposition's internet and it's common sense.
Lag compensation is necessary, without it you'd be shooting at thin air.

I've never heard anything like this before, graphical assets load from your Xbox not from the server.

You don't have to download third party software at all. We suggest ping plotter, to people that are having problems, as a way to perform a test on their line so that they can provide us with a visual representation of the state of their network connection. We do this so that we can offer advice to help solve any problems that people are having that is outside of the control of the Netduma. Good look getting that level of support from anyone else.

If you have an issue then create a support thread, you're off-topic, any further off-topic posts will be removed from this thread.

I don't have any information to update you with.

I don't have any information and I was asleep. I used to respond to say "I have no information", people got angry at that so I stopped posting it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

The Queen and I are very close, she's often asking for updates on DumaOS but she's always very polite and has never needed a warning or a suspension.

The silence can create rumors and false speculation, but I’ve come the conclusion that the NetDuma support team has been instructed not respond to this thread for the simple fact of not knowing when it will be ready. Saying anything at this point would not help the situation but just fuel the disappointment even further. My advice for all those waiting, for your sanity’s sake, just forget about asking or posting anything on this thread. When the DumaOS is ready, you will know, it’s not something that’s going to fly underneath the radar. If I were in NetDumas shoes I would’ve given the customers updates throughout the delay, but unfortunately that ship has sailed long time ago. All we really can do now is be patient and hope for the best.

I do this when I get tired of the Southern California Server, but usually when the San Francisco server comes up that one plays well and sometimes better than the So Cal server. But the Dallas Texas pings at about 43ms and is sweet and sometimes it is bad but that is because of the players with bad ping.

Yup, I can confirm that a ww2 has a sweet spot when it comes to ping. I was pinging to servers in California at 15ms and experienced that I would get melted and have no reaction time 9 out of 10 times. So I experimented with other server locations that would give me a ping of 80 to 100ms and I would noticed the hit detection also was bad. Finally I found a server that pings 45-50ms and hit reg is finally acceptable 9 out of 10 times. Every now and then a will still feel horrible but I believe it has a lot to do with the players in lobby and how the game balances out the lag compensation. Play around with different servers with your geo filter until you find a server that is 40-50ms and share your results! Hope it works for anyone who tries this method...

Maybe - WW2 players stand by the opinion that ridiculously low pings (like 10ms) tend to make the gameplay worse. Their lag compensation isn't great for those kinds of pings, so forcing a slightly further away server could make it play better
