I turned off the WiFi completely on my R3 and added some TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro's in AP mode with ethernet backhaul to solve the issue with my WiFi dropping out constantly. Wired has been pretty stable 99.9% of the time so no real complaints there. Using the Deco's in AP mode allows be to have fantastic WiFi that doesn't drop out and still have the benefits of DumaOS for gaming.

For anyone else that may be experiencing a similar situation with poor WiFi because of lots of interference from surrounding networks I went with a TP-Link Deco system and put it in AP mode. Everything works perfectly and still allows me to use all the DumaOS features...

Do you have any personal favorites I can research? Admittedly my WIFI has never been great and it's most likely because I live in a congested area and I'm sure I could have benefited from an access point or two before this so I'm not super upset by having to get one. However, I never had the disconnects that I've been having with this router. Tons on the little IOT devices like switches, plugs, cameras, etc. which probably don't have very powerful antennas...

Hello, The bands are split already (I have devices that won't connect when there is only one SSID broadcast for both bands) I will try that. I have found it doesn't make much difference in the past I'll give that a shot It is 6' off the ground on a cabinet The only thing that's close is a refrigerator I will set them like that Do you have any access points that might work seamlessly with the R3?

So this works seemingly? There's no swapping Wi-Fi networks as you move through the house?

Hello! I've had the R3 for a month or two now and I've been having a few issues with it. Before I start this router has so much potential. The new interface is great and accessing it is significantly faster than the Netgear XR1000. Also, I feel like the geofilter works better and the ping assist seems to really help. One feature that was on the XR1000 that I wish was on the R3 is the ability to import a list of devices into device manager so you don't have to go through and rename each one individually. Would save a ton of time setting it up. Now, Here are the issues I've having. Will any of these be addressed in an upcoming firmware update? Weak/inconsistent/unreliable Wifi and tons of WiFi disconnects on both bands - I have several smart plugs/switches and NEST cameras and almost every single one disconnects multiple times a day (I live in a townhouse so my house is not huge. None are more than 40 feet from the router and it's as centrally located as I can get it). I work from home and my laptop will periodically disconnect for 60-90 seconds (this is much more random. It might not happen for days or weeks and then it will happen multiple days in a row) Yesterday I had to reboot the router twice because the LAN ports had no connectivity (WiFi was still connected and working) Ping Optimizer setup is a real pain in the buttocks. It fails more often than it succeeds. The RGB lights will randomly get a mind of it's own and start doing random things and colors until a reboot Obviously 1 & 2 are the big ones. Are these known issues? Is there an issue with my router? Are there plans to make improvements in those areas with firmware updates? If so is there an ETA on when the update will be available? Also, are there any hardwired WiFi range extenders or access points that would work seamlessly with the R3? Thanks!

I was on .20 and manually updated to .41 and it seemed to work

Thanks! That was probably it. I started poking around and found a place to change my login info and changed it to something different and it worked.

I've tried probably 50 to run the Ping Optimizer on my R3 that was just delivered today and it keeps failing. Any thoughts on what might be causing it and how to fix it? I've rebooted the router 4 times. I've run it in my desktop that's connected via Ethernet cable and through the app on my phone. Same result. Thanks!

Hello, I just setup my R3 and I'm trying to connect the Android App to it. When I get to the page asking me to login (screen grab below) what login is it asking for? The password I use to access DumaOS through my web browser on my PC isn't working. Is there a different user ID I could be using? Thanks!

Just checking to see if this is infact currently in stock. Having connectivity issues with my current router and want to order but I want to be sure it's in stock and ready to ship. Thanks!

It's just a modem. My ISP is saying that the router is sending the wrong information to the modem. Basically they are saying the router isn't saying "hey I'm a router" to the modem and it's sending random MAC addresses to the modem to connect to and their refresh signal from their office forces the router to say "hey I'm a router" and the modem connects to it. It sounds like a giant load of BS to me. They are saying that they can't provision the modem with the MAC address for the router so it can't connect to anything else. It's extremely frustrating. To be clear I do not believe it's an issue with the router but they are taking the easy way out and blaming the equipment they aren't responsible for. I'm just asking in the off chance that thereis something I can change in the router to fix it.

Hello, I'm sorry to revisit this but I'm still having this issue. They never got back to me from a few months ago and i just kind of let it go because I haven't had to deal with rebooting the modem until today when my power went out. I called them tom complain about it some more and asked again if they can do what you mentioned above and they are saying that they have no way of provisioning the modem to only look for my router. They are blaming it on the router (of course it's the easy thing to do). So, just for the sake of trying do you have any idea what settings, if any, in the router might allow this to happen? I mostly just did the basic setup so I can't imagine I changed anything that would cause this. Thanks!

Hello, I have an XR1000 and I'm having an issue where after a power cycle the modem is bypassing the router and connecting to random devices downstream both wired and wireless rather than connecting to the router. When this happens the WAN IP address on the dashboard appears as all zeros rather than my actual IP address. For example I just just got done with my ISP's tech support and they had me power cycle the router several times. The first time it connected to my stereo receiver for my surround sound system (wired). I unplugged that. The next time it connected to my NVIDIA Shield TV box over WIFI. The next time it picked up my Google Home Mini (WIFI). The next time it picked up my Google Nest Hub (WIFI). Next I disconnected all wired devices and turned WIFI off so there was nothing connected. This allowed the modem to connect to the router. The only other way I can get it to connect it to call my ISP and have them send a reset signal from their main office. The issue with this is that there's an hour wait to get a rep. I believe it's a modem issue but I was wondering if you guys knew of any settings that I can change that would prevent the modem from seeing through the router and connecting directly to one of the other devices on my network?
