  1. We do have a BT Smart Hub we can try. I’ll ask if everyone in the house is happy for me to temporarily replace the modem and router to test with it. Would that show in the logs, or is there a separate section for it?
  2. Cheers @Newfie, @Netduma Fraser. We have a ZTLink MT992 G.fast modem which was installed a few months ago when we got a G.fast connection - was supplied by OpenReach. I'll replace the ethernet cable from the modem to the router in case there is an issue there. Unfortunately, I don't really catch the disconnects unless I'm gaming which I haven't had much time for recently. I only notice it when I look at the Nest Camera we have and I can see an outage which correlates to the disconnect in the logs. The disconnect only happens briefly as well so it's a bit challenging to catch that modem light, even if I caught it while it disconnects. I'll raise a fault ticket with BT in case there's something else going on there though - thanks for the support!
  3. Cheers @Newfie, I guess my main concern is I used to get daily internet disconnects, sometimes multiple times a day. After @Netduma Fraser suggested to turn NAT to 'Secured' rather than Open, the disconnects stopped. Now there's been another disconnect, I'm a bit worried that it could be a security issue. I know these "attacks" show regularly in the logs and aren't necessarily an issue, however, with the disconnects, it seems there might be something else going on. Unfortunately, the OpenReach modem we have is locked off so I can't see the logs at the modem which is a bit frustrating. Having limited visibility of the network does make it really difficult to debug. Maybe this is a sign I should get back to studying for my CompTia Network+ cert 😬

Should I be worried about security at this stage? Are DoS attacks taking my internet down? On a side note, I opened up a support ticket for the log issue. I'll let you know if I hear anything back, cheers!
  5. Cheers, I tried using Outlook and still got the same issue only sending 3 characters. I'll post back with any feedback I receive from Netgear - cheers
  6. @Netduma Liam Below are the email settings that I have for both the XR1000 and Orbi. I'm using my personal iCloud account so I've blanked out my email and the password. I followed the settings from here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202304 I attached pictures for the settings and an output of the email logs for both. Hope that helps. I forgot that the XR1000 is a mixture between Netgear functionality with DumaOS. I'll raise the issue to Netgear as well. Thanks very much!
  7. Apologies for the delays with getting back to you. I've not had time to get back into gaming again to grab the logs. I decided to set up an email schedule to send me the logs on a daily basis, just so I have them if I need to refer to them. However, I have a bit of a weird issue. I have a Netgear Orbi (set in AP mode) and the XR1000, I've set up the same imap outgoing server and authentication details for both. The Orbi sends me the logs fine but the XR1000 only sends me the first 3 characters of the log on the XR router. Unrelated to the original issue so happy to set up a new thread if that helps but not sure if there's a quick fix for that one? I've tried sending the logs about half a dozen times and same behaviour each time.
  8. Geo-Filter is off. I had QoS on, retried with it off and still seems to just disconnect us after about an hour or two of being in the same session. Quitting the game and restarting fixes it but just happens again after an hour or two of playing.
  9. Found the issue with my WiFi. Seems like it was turned off at the router, I'm wondering if my cat decided to stand on it as she goes through that area a bit. Holding it for 2 seconds brought it back up. Realised what the issue was once I went into advanced settings, to wireless, and I couldn't turn off the WiFi for some reason. Hope you get to the bottom of your issue @slfandrade! Cheers @Netduma Fraser for replying to my post.
  10. Same thing happening for me this morning. WiFi says it’s enabled in system information but no wireless is being broadcast from the router. Lights for both bands aren’t lighting up on the router either. Only started happening this morning. Netgear XR1000
  11. I wanted to test over a few days just to make sure but there's not been any internet disconnects since changing the NAT type to Secure. However, since the disconnects, my brother and I keep losing connection to each other playing Elite Dangerous when that never happened before (playing in the same household, both on xbox). This hasn't stopped since switching to Secured NAT - not sure why that's developed since these disconnects started happening.
  12. I use UPnP and set my NAT to Open. Other than that, there’s no DMZ or port rules set up

happened. Took a snippet from before the disconnect. Just edited out the IP's and port numbers. The rest of the logs is pretty much just repeating from what's under the disconnect. Might be worth adding that the times are an hour behind of what was happening. Guess it just doesn't take daylight savings into account.
  14. @Netduma Fraser Set my connection to 'Always On'. Ended up with another internet disconnect while playing online. It ended up crashing my entire game and kicked me out into the xbox dashboard without any internet. Before, it would just disconnect for a second and reconnect. Any idea's what could be happening?
  15. @Newfie @Netduma Fraser Cheers guys. Could it potentially be a bug in the code causing it to timeout when the internet is in use? It happens gaming online for some reason
  16. @Netduma Fraser Using an OpenReach Gfast modem - think it’s a Huawei. No WiFi - locked off as well unfortunately
  17. Hi @Netduma Liam, I don't have hybrid VPN enabled. Cheers
  18. Cheers @Valvaris I'm connected PC --> Router XR --> Modem --> ISP. Gfast connection with BT. I checked BT's website and can't see any outages or issues reported but might need to give them a call
  19. Hi guys, I've been having an issue over the past couple of weeks where I'm getting kicked out of party chat on xbox and in-game. It's happening on a frequent basis now where I'll get kicked once every hour, sometimes several times an hour. I can see the disconnects in the logs: [Internet connected] IP address: XX.XXX.XX.XX, Thursday, Apr 29,2021 23:04:34 [Internet disconnected] Thursday, Apr 29,2021 23:04:23 [Internet idle-timeout] Thursday, Apr 29,2021 23:04:23 Any idea why this might be happening? Any help would be appreciated
  20. Seems to be fine now with changing the max mbps speed. Thanks very much, if I come across any other issues, I’ll try disabling mu-mimo. After what’s been said above, I don’t think we’d really be taking advantage of it much anyway. Thanks for all your help everyone!
  21. @CRarsenxL What’s the mu-mimo doing to affect the wireless signal?
  22. Ah, I see. That’s good to know, thanks very much for the info!
  23. Hi @Netduma Fraser, noticed again that Rocket League is only returning a few servers in the Ping Heatmap. Geo-filtering seems to work well when the servers are returning in the Ping Heatmap, but when it doesn’t, I notice it barely joins any games - just keep getting kicked out of servers due to error’s. Is it possible to get a profile added for it please?
  24. Cheers Fraser. I did check and it does have Private address enabled. Is this known to cause issues with Netgear devices? What issues can it cause?
