if the Netduma team either for the R3 or the future R4 in a few years tops create some weatherproof wifi extenders a package of three designed by Netduma with the possibility to show signal strengths for each of the wifi extenders and tune them in the R3 or R4 for speeds don't know if that would just be a waste of time for Wifi Extenders instead of using an AP router behind the R3 or R4 or even the possibility to make the R4 sleek like the R3 but a a mesh system router with one main hub for wired connections for consoles and pc's in a game room with a price point of like $250 for a Mesh router I would say it would take 5+ years to design a Netduma R4 Mesh Router with two other wifi hubs

reporting a minor bug today had my third disconnect I fix it just by switching off the router with the button behind it it doesn't happen numerous times in a day like once or twice still able to access dumaos after reboot

after setting the MTU on a console make sure to do a Console speed test to apply the MTU or restart the console, after setting the MTU on the router it doesn't require a reboot, just apply save settings

you can check google on how to find it with a Mac command prompt tool I forget what its called, normally 1472 MTU, is good for FPS, Call of duty, Halo, Fortnite games, make sure you set the MTU in the routers WAN page and your preferred gaming console or pc all the same MTU 1472

I noticed a improvement with latency and not rubber banding being shot around corners I have tested MW2 on several occasions other servers, with the MTU set at 1472 on the R2, my packets were fragmented at 1500 so I went with 1472, and left it alone, you can test your MTU from this link to download TCP Optimizer : https://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php , look for the least fragmented mtu size and set according in your router of choice, but lower don't mean better unless instructed by TCP optimizer make sure you run it as administrator on your desktop computer to test, I have noticed as well its not a placebo, it works and has been proven by hundreds of people to help with latency, and packet loss, I tested a server thousands of miles away which I would lag bad on which hit reg was raised, but seemed more stable in game, didn't die in BS ways, its not a solve all fix all, or will fit everyone's isp internet setup, so test according, some speculate that MTU does little to nothing, which also been proven to help, may not be consistent, based on your bufferbloat, incorrect QOS, running wifi for gaming console, or pc, or other unknown issues packet loss on ISP side, to many devices on network,

I don't see if there is a GTA (series) Priority on 3.3.347 if it could be added in the future, at a later date for GTA V, with the gunfights you get into with people, I don't know if it would even make a impact to the game for online, and later in the future to improve on it for for GTA VI when it releases.. GEO FILTER may not be suitable for the game with the players being from all over the world. no Idea if GTA has a lot of servers for online lobbies.

if any Technical Netduma Admin @Netduma Frasercan give me some technical specs for all the chip sets sizes for the R2 preferably the CPU I posted pictures below courtesy of @KindaBustedfor the USB fans that I have ordered about to order some thermal stick on heat sinks I know with opening the router Voids warranty my warranty has been long gone anyone can tell me what you guys think I know it won't be a big huge improvement in performance with temperatures but can't hurt but try if I break it that's on me but on that note I built my own gaming pc so this will be cake 😉

wondering if the network monitor dpi has been improved for the ps5 for the next iteration firmware update for the R2 in the future for MW2 & other games bugs me to see no gaming in network monitor even though the traffic Prioritization light turns on for classified games and I had a admin saying in the past there is a few tweaks to the backend QOS side of dumaos that will be a improvement for the next firmware

and I tried again after factory resetting my XR500 with the pin hole still shows the Default VLAN ""INTERNET"" but comes up blank with no lan ports or wifi to select one port might be a bug I guess

the internet VLAN on top I click it to edit to add a port the one enabled by default I go to edit but no lan ports are showing up or wifi the one with the VLAN ID 4

can't tag anything in the internet VLAN page it's blank what am I doing wrong I already setup vlan tagging on my Edgerouter-X

finally Retiring my Netduma R1 possibly selling it in a garage sell since it was just sitting in a box in my closet not being used keeping the Netduma R2 and my Netgear XR500

would it be a possibility in the future of DumaOS to where you could click on the DPI page on DUMAOS and sniff applications used by devices beside a range of ports outbound and inbound or just game console ports, but create groups of applications for high priority dropdown from 0 to 10 media socials gaming 0 being the highest 10 being the lowest priority where you open device on dpi page will automatically show on PS5 Sony Playstation CallOfDuty and Xbox click on it and add it to a group highest priority dropdown like 0 everything else could be whatever anyone selects Firewall settings would help with select ports or protocols applications inbound local outbound not saying in any way to copy and paste ubiquiti's ideas that are trademarked and copyrighted but I do enjoy a more advanced way of tinkering not just qos sliders and flower device applications I'm sure it would also costs thousands of more money and hours for R&D to develop a application sniffer in DPI for DumaOS I noticed with everything I have done on edgemax I got my ping on Bo4 ps5 from 30ms to 25ms ttk seemed to lower a bit during that game but got into a further distant server or peer what would be 60ms was 45ms steady not bouncing from 40's to 60's still was stable but NETDUMA ADMINS and mods and other netduma users can chime into my opinions of improvements or I'm just thinking over my head 🙂🙂

found a nifty thing/s to limit bandwidth usage for browsers is right clicking on a browser website page to click on inspect and going over to network on drop down and limiting bandwidth for download nothing less than 27mbps and upload 3.4mbps but from what I heard it's only works per tab that your on I could be mistaken that it's a placebo but I get better hit reg on COD on my playstation using a Netduma R2, you can do it to windows 10 and 11 by clicking the windows button on bottom left and typing in bandwidth "windows update delivery settings" and clicking on advanced do it for steam too if you play steam games on your desktop or laptop, you can use the inspect on most windows tablets and all laptops make sure if you create a throttling rule you select it afterwards in the inspect network window and close out with the X on the top right, from what I can assume that most apps and browsers use bandwidth in the background what you don't see including Microsoft edge, google chrome, Oprea, steam, and windows OS

thank you QOS works as intended but since BO4 is a four year old game it probably hasn't been updated in the DPI

yes I agree like a toggle for those not inclined for those features just a toggle for the basic qos and everything in between just PLUG N PLAY toggle BASIC TOGGLE 😀

I was thinking for a few things that would make sense in a more experienced way to adjust settings like DD-WRT and OpenWRT and Tomato with QOS modes like FQ codel cake etc to have a more way for extermination to adjust settings while having a plug and play way for beginners the normal DUMAOS and to use the routers or a way for more tech savvy ways to adjust a lot more settings instead of the typical QOS sliders and auto enable or always plus the flower pedal adjuster like adding a queuing disciplines port changes for the QOS and packet schedulers and MAC priority feature but leaving AUTO SETUP in the mix don't know if I'm asking for too much I know it would take years for development not a monthly thing or a year plus with copyrights and to not try to steal ideas from DD-WRT openWRT I use DD-WRT for AP for my Netduma R2... but with the R2 and XR routers even though they perform very well more tech savvy router users like myself would love more features for everything without sacrificing CPU usage memory and ram and all the backend stuff just more versatility with different setups for settings
