Smartboost failing to recognize gaming priority
jmoorect1979 replied to jmoorect1979's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Do you know if it would work on pc or if I would be able to do the same thing for my pc? I don't play on console. -
Smartboost failing to recognize gaming priority
jmoorect1979 replied to jmoorect1979's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Darkness, this isn't an issue of not recognizing a specific game. The software is supposed to recognize when any game is being played and prioritize that. And it doesn't explain why for me that "streaming" is highlighted when I'm playing a game instead of gaming. -
Smartboost failing to recognize gaming priority

Man that's unfortunate. I haven't had any issues like yours with thr wifi, and this isn't a deal breaker for me. I am able to set the congestion control which does help, but I'm hopeful they recognize the issues and find fixes for em. Netduma is still the only software like it that helps with gaming so ima stick it out. I hope things get better on your end. -
So another issue I've run into is the recognition from smart boost not seeing I'm playing a game. What's weird is the livestream priority is highlighted, but I'm not streaming, I'm gaming. Any reasons why this would be?

Oh, and the service I use is showing I am using Google DNS as a DNS resolver, which I am not, which is why I am asking here.

I just wanted to verify I am on the right track and in the right place to change my DNS. I went to Settings>WAN>Advanced>DNS override and changed the DNS there. Is that correct? Is this the setting that affects my internet as a whole? I wanted to verify because I have a security service that requires me to use their DNS settings to apply the security options to my home, but it is not working. I can still access certain websites that are blocked through the service I use. Thanks in advance for any help.

I appreciate the responses. I hope it is still added just to see where the servers are for rocket league and be able to stop players from other regions to join games I play which cause lag on both sides.

Thank you for reply, I have done that and figured that would be the best fix until things are worked out.

Hello, I just set up my r3 and tried to run the "optimize my ping" setting. I have received the same error every time, "ping optimizer encountered a problem, unable to complete due to external circumstances". Anyone else and is there a fix or solution? Thank you

Please add Rocket League to the gaming list. It's not optimized very good and has packet loss and ping issues often. I would appreciate it, and I'm sure multiple other gamers would as well!

Xr500 as extender?
jmoorect1979 replied to jmoorect1979's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Thank you very much! I thought I lost this post as I couldn't find it which is why it's so long before I responded. Would you forsee any conflicts between the xr500 and the r3 using the xr500 as an AP since the xr500 won't have DumaOS 4? -
Hello, I was wondering if the xr500 can be used with the R3 as an extender or access point?

XR500 Device not found error
jmoorect1979 replied to jmoorect1979's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
After following your instructions, which did work, I did a benchmark test using the Netduma software and no matter what I did in the QoS it always tested at full bandwidth. Is it supposed to function like that? I thought if you set the QoS down/up levels the test would reflect those settings. -

XR500 Device not found error
jmoorect1979 replied to jmoorect1979's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
Thank you for the help! I appreciate the quick response! Also, do I have to do anything special to downgrade? Or do I just download the older firmware and manual install it? And is there a link for it somewhere? Sorry for the bombardment of questions lol. -
So for the first time ever with my router, after completing a factory reset, I get an error saying "device not found" in the bottom are of the QoS section next to traffic prioritization. Not sure why or how to get around this. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I do have the latest firmware update 2.3.2.134.
