Losing gun fights when you clearly won

This game confuses me like crazy, now I play hardcore so being fast and on point is key.. I'm a pretty decent player without bragging, my kd sits at 2.16 atm. However there's been many of times I've been bang on somebody and it's like shooting air, and they just mow straight through me, sometimes I'm already pre aimed to take somebody out, and I'm dead a fraction of a second before they are fully on my screen. usually I'd say lag! But the duma was reporting a sweet 20ms ping.. It makes no sense.. Other times no matter how quick iam I just can't get the kill, somebody beat me to the punch with a lmg without quickdraw! From 5ft away when I was using the kuda! I mean cmon! Also.. (don't worry nearly finished lol) has anybody experienced ridiculous hitmarkers on hardcore? It very rarely happened on ops2 but it's happened too many times on this for it to be a fluke man. Finally my question is, is this something treyarch can remedy via an update? Patch? Or.. Is this just the way the game is this year? No more godly duma moments on this cod?

I sometimes go to the in game menu and watch the ping graph. Sometimes it goes wildly up and down, from 50ms up to 200ms and everything in between, then settles for a while, then back again to fluctuating. Also noticed missing packets which you could see as lag, or where the hell did my bullets go, as well as skipped frames. I see this happening with peer to peer connections which vary from amazing to pure WTF games. I think much has to do with the Host selected. I have had games where I am dominating with the Argus Shotgun, because of a sweet connection, then halfway through, I start getting hit markers with the same weapon, and have to do two shots to get the kill.

Dedicated servers are less inconsistent, but are consistently poor in feeling squishy, with loads of delay.

Give it time. the nature of the connections change after every update. It needs time to settle down. In the meantime, play cautiously when you know you are getting skipped frames and delay. Run and Gun when you have a sweet connection. In all cases, I found as well that the Twitch stacking causes many deaths. You have to constantly move around while shooting your opponent, to try and keep this to a minimum. A stock on most weapons helps a lot. I have noticed a lot more camping now, since players have gotten used to the dynamics of this game. Shamelessly head glitching from behind cover or lying in the shadows is just a part of the Gameplay it seems. In many team death matches, the team that camps wins.
