stuartjohnprocter Posted yesterday at 12:42 AM Posted yesterday at 12:42 AM Hi Team, I can not access my New R3 router via a cox gateway. I believe that device below may be it, but I cannot access it and using the default IP of 192.168.77.1 (or the IP shown below). the mac address appears to be off by one charter also. The mac id on the bottom of the unit ends D6, but the device below ends D7. All the other character's are the same. What could be the problem?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 08:10 AM Administrators Posted yesterday at 08:10 AM Just to clarify, are you connected to the Cox gateway and trying to then access the R3? If so that's not possible, you'll need to be connected to the R3 in order to access it, either via wifi or ethernet.
stuartjohnprocter Posted yesterday at 02:07 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:07 PM Hello, Thanks for the prompt response. Yes, the current setup uses an ethernet cable from the LAN port 1 on the cox router to the internet port on the R3. Currently, internet is not working on the PS5 device that I have connected to the R3, hence I was trying to access the router to if there were setting on the R3 preventing the PS5 making a connection to the internet. The PC I was using was connected to LAN port 2 on the COX router at present. I may shift this over, but for now, I can use my Laptop to access the R3. What settings should I look at to make sure the PS5 works? Stuart
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 11 hours ago Administrators Posted 11 hours ago Have you accessed the R3 to complete the setup wizard? As this will need to be done before you can get internet. There is nothing specific you need to change after this to get them working together if you've verified you are getting internet through the R3 then just a reboot of the R3 then the console should get it online
stuartjohnprocter Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Yes, this did the trick, I don't recall needing to do that for the R1 and R2 to get the internet working before setting up my options, but I am knocking on a bit and the gray matter in not what I used to be. Stuart
