Don Gordito Posted March 27 Posted March 27 just purchase a R3 off the website router in 3 weeks of use... as of today my 5G randomly disconnects all my wifi devices off, anyone has a fix for this? Rebooting and factory reset does not work. R3_2026-03-27T17_20_05.934Z_logs.txt
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27 Administrators Posted March 27 How often is it happening? Does that mean you've split the bands so you can connect to 5G specifically? If so, you're not experiencing the issue over 2.4? I've given you Early Access so you can upgrade to the firmware there to see if it continues https://forum.netduma.com/forum/151-netduma-r3-early-access/
Don Gordito Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 Wife just told me today just happening. I use the router on smart connect her IPad connects to 5g it keeps telling her no internet connection. I used my pc to connect to 5G only and seems 5G doesnt work at all even on my pc and kicked all devices using 5G to use 2.4G Thank you am downloading and testing it out now.
Don Gordito Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 problem still the same looks like 5G bugged out i attached the logs hopefully there be a fix. it works for like 4 seconds just randomly disconnects. R3_2026-03-27T17_55_31.139Z_logs.txt
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27 Administrators Posted March 27 If you're using it without having split the bands then you can't force it to use 5GHz or 2.4GHz, it will use whatever is needed based on your requirements at the time so it will switch between the two automatically, some devices don't like that switching though. Split the bands, name them individually then connect to 5GHz specifically and see if it works
Don Gordito Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 Problem is any device using 5G it will automatically kicked them out and a cause drops. I even tried to split them and wouldn't let me connect to 5G my pc says cannot connect to wifi. Everything was just fine yesterday. I tried to connect again to 5G and wouldn't let my pc connect. As of right now. I disabled 5G and used my devices as 2.4G everything works as for my pc i use my ethernet cable.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27 Administrators Posted March 27 Have you got 5GHz set to 160Mhz width? If so that will be why, set it to 80Mhz max and it should work fine again. Even if you don't have it set to that, make sure to set it manually to a width that isn't 160.
Don Gordito Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 Fraser, It works now am able to connect to 5G now.. all i did was turn router off for 10mins and everything is back to normal, am able to use 5G on auto
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27 Administrators Posted March 27 Good to hear, thanks for the update!
Don Gordito Posted Tuesday at 10:15 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 10:15 PM Fraser Question, whenever i download a game from steam it disconnects my wifi then reconnects. it only does it with steam is there a bug? only reason am asking is because it did it again so am forced to use ethernet to download.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Tuesday at 11:04 PM Administrators Posted Tuesday at 11:04 PM Set 5GHz like I mentioned previously rather than auto and see if that stops it please. Are you utilizing Congestion Control? That should prevent it using all your bandwidth and potentially making that happen. You're not prioritizing downloads are you?
Don Gordito Posted Tuesday at 11:10 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 11:10 PM i set it seperately as you mentioned and i disabled smartboost and disabled congestion control and it still happens BUT it only happens when downloading large files using 5G,
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 02:02 PM Administrators Posted yesterday at 02:02 PM Disabling Congestion Control would be the opposite of what to do, re-enable it, set to Always and try with 70% for download & upload, do you get the same issue?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 19 hours ago Administrators Posted 19 hours ago How did you disable it previously? Disabling SmartBOOST fully from its menu would disable Congestion Control so re-enable it. Then adjust Congestion Control in Ping Optimizer > Advanced.
Don Gordito Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago yeah its still kicking me off while downloading a large file on 5G anyways am going to return it. it's a bummer.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 4 hours ago Administrators Posted 4 hours ago Okay fair enough, I'm sure we could solve it given more time but I'd suggest contacting [email protected] fairly quickly then as you said you bought it 3 weeks ago.
