zandar37 Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Hi, i'm When I play overwatch, the geo filter can't recognize the game server. And in apex legends, it's keeping recognizing the game server as "Oklahoma City" and display the ping to the server as "5ms" but my actual ping is 60ms. And reboot doesn't work. How do you get the ip address of these game servers?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 10 Administrators Posted November 10 What do you mean by can't recognize it exactly? Thanks for the report, we'll need to re-test it and make a cloud update - if you can provide the IDs (IPs that have been converted into a code so end user doesn't see the IP) then we can update it more quickly
zandar37 Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 โcan't recognize itโ means it seems not recognizing any overwatch game server. It keeps displaying "inactive". Sry but I forget the ID of Oklahoma. :-( Btw, how could I get the IPs of overwatch game servers? As far as I know overwatch seems to use dynamic IPs for their servers. But I need their IPs to prevent from affecting my overwatch. Thx ๐
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 14 Administrators Posted November 14 Do you actually see servers on the map when playing the game? Can you provide a screenshot of the Geo-Filter showing what you see please?ย The router doesn't show the IPs of the game servers directly so it's not something we can provide.
zandar37 Posted November 17 Author Posted November 17 But it seems that the router can obtain the IP addresses of these servers. When I'm playing overwatch it looks just like below. ย
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 17 Administrators Posted November 17 What do you need the IP addresses for specifically? The router can get the IPs yes but we don't show the IPs on the interface and we don't provide them. Also on Ping Heatmap the IPs shown there may not specifically be the game server but a server in the same location as where the game server is. For the Geo-Filter: Do this: Quit the application/game/client completely - including the game client from the System Tray - important! Remove device from the Geo-Filter Give the PCย the PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up application/game/client It's essential the Geo-Filter is enabled before the game client or the game have been launched. If you change Geo-Filter settings when you're on the game then you will need to restart the game for those changes to take effect, otherwise it will use the previous Geo-Filter settings and appear not to be working.
zandar37 Posted November 18 Author Posted November 18 I need these IP to bypass my network proxy for my overwatch. I guess it might be precisely because of the network proxy that my overwatch couldn't be detected by the geo-filter? Can I get the IP range of the region where the game server is located? I tried these steps for geo-filter, but unfortunately it doesn't work. I guess it's because of my network proxy?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 18 Administrators Posted November 18 Yes that is entirely possible - have you tried without the proxy? I'd have to ask a dev to see if they can get that for you - I'll come back to you. Just to double check, which region do you need IPs for?
zandar37 Posted November 19 Author Posted November 19 I've tried playing overwatch without proxy and it did work! That must be the reason I guess. And I want to get the IPs for servers of Korea and Hong Kong. Thx! ๐
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 20 Administrators Posted November 20 Good to hear! I'll ask the team and get back to you
