rash Posted Saturday at 07:26 PM Posted Saturday at 07:26 PM Hi everyone, I’ve been playing EA SPORTS FC 26 and sometimes struggle with high ping and lag, especially since I connect to somewhat distant servers. Has anyone here tried the Netgear Nighthawk XR300 with the Geo-Filter feature to improve connection quality and reduce ping in this game? Does the router noticeably improve the gaming experience in FC 26? Also, are there any specific settings you’d recommend to get the best performance? Thanks in advance for any advice or personal experiences you can share!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Saturday at 07:40 PM Administrators Posted Saturday at 07:40 PM If you're connecting to far servers then you should definitely try with the Geo-Filter to get lower ping servers closer to home. Then just your usual Congestion Control settings to eliminate local congestion and prioritizing your device should do the trick. rash 1

If I get the device, will I see better results?

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Saturday at 08:15 PM Administrators Posted Saturday at 08:15 PM I can't guarantee that, networking has many variables, if there are closer servers to you then it is possible you could improve your ping. I would however strongly suggest you don't get the XR300 and choose a different model, ideally our own Netduma R3 which is current and so latest software and will continue to get updates.

Unfortunately, this device is beyond my current budget. I would like to know if the XR300 is sufficient for now, and thank you for your response.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Saturday at 11:02 PM Administrators Posted Saturday at 11:02 PM Its sufficient but its end of service and on very old software and won't receive any more updates. I'd suggest a second hand XR500 instead if you could get one on budget
