B3ASTBOII Posted October 1 Posted October 1 I’m having issues with my R3 I factory reset it twice already. Changed my ethernet cable and still have issues connecting to the internet. I tried everything still having issues.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2 Administrators Posted October 2 Have you completed the Setup Wizard? If not you will need to do that before you can get internet B3ASTBOII 1
B3ASTBOII Posted October 3 Author Posted October 3 Yes I completed the wizard setup. The issue that I’m having is that all four of the ethernet port are not properly connecting to the internet. I tested the internet speed upload would be 8mb and download would be 4mb when I use to get almost 1gb on both. It constant disconnects, it never use to do that and the only thing that’s working is the Wi-Fi . I’ve seen other post people having the same problem as me Wi-Fi works fine but the ethernet ports doesn’t work well. Please help I really like your product. But it’s unfortunate that I can’t use it like I want to.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 3 Administrators Posted October 3 Just to clarify, do you have internet over ethernet? Is it just the speeds that are heavily reduced? What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the R3? Have you entered your speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control? How have you setup SmartBOOST? Where are you testing the speeds? What firmware version are you on? Please provide a screenshot of the WAN & LAN settings pages.
B3ASTBOII Posted October 3 Author Posted October 3 My modem is a Verizon CR1000B I went to the DMZ settings and put the R3 as the host. I set everything properly on the r3 and still having issues with my pc connection to the internet. I only have my pc connected wired to the R3. When I mean ethernet port I was basically talking about wired connection. The r3 four ports on the back are not working properly this happened last week everything was fine then out of nowhere they just stopped working. As well the R3 is up to date version4.0.540.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 3 Administrators Posted October 3 You do have internet over ethernet just the speeds that are heavily reduced right? By you only have your PC wired to the R3 does that mean all other devices are connected to the ISP modem/router or they're connected via WiFi to the R3? They all should be connected to the R3, they can take bandwidth away from the router if they're connected to the ISP modem/router and so could be contributing to the issue. I appreciate you've set everything properly but I still need to know the answers to the questions. Have you entered your speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control? How have you setup SmartBOOST? If you test on speedtest.net specifically, not just on the search engine page, what does it report? Please provide a screenshot of the WAN & LAN settings pages.
B3ASTBOII Posted October 3 Author Posted October 3 Yes I enter the speed of the R3 it show me different speed upload is 928.0 mbs and download is 931.0 mbs but that doesn’t matter because my connection still suck. My smart boost I have my pc a top priority, for activities I have gaming top priority, second video and streaming. My other devices such as phones, TVs and tablets are connected to Wi-Fi on the main modem not on the R3. I never had any issues with my r3 and other devices were connected to the main modem. Like I stated before the R3 was working fine. I can I get warranty exchange if possible.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 3 Administrators Posted October 3 Okay so you have internet and you're getting the correct speeds, that's great so there isn't an issue that warrants an exchange so it does matter. What do you mean your connection sucks exactly? If not all your devices are connected to the R3 then SmartBOOST/Congestion Control won't be able to do much as they don't control your entire network so you're essentially then just relying on the Geo-Filter. What game are you playing? How have you setup the Geo-Filter? What is the ping shown in game and what does it show on the Geo-Filter? How have you setup Congestion Control (Ping Optimizer > Advanced)?
B3ASTBOII Posted October 3 Author Posted October 3 IMG_0372.mov I just sent you a video of me trying to explain the issue
B3ASTBOII Posted October 3 Author Posted October 3 I mainly play Call of Duty I setup the geo filter the way tutorial shows you or the YouTube video that I watched. My issue isn’t any of those things is the connection not properly going to my pc via wired connection to the R3. But connecting my pc using WiFi it works. Like I stated before I’m not the only person having this issue I have seen other post people have the issue connecting wired to your R3 isn’t working properly.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 3 Administrators Posted October 3 Okay thanks, you said it happened 2 weeks ago, was anything changed physically or via settings? I've given you Early Access, please upgrade to that and see if it improves https://forum.netduma.com/forum/151-netduma-r3-early-access/
B3ASTBOII Posted October 4 Author Posted October 4 Yes that is correct for some odd reason nothing changed physically nor via settings. It was like a switch everything stop working. But thank you for your help hopefully this update fix the situation because I really enjoy your product.
