theguycanfly Posted yesterday at 09:48 AM Posted yesterday at 09:48 AM I've been mostly enjoying my R3 for about a year now, but recently, some of the features I use the most have stopped working, or I'm unsure if they are functioning properly. Playing Modern Warfare 3 2023 or Black Ops 6, the Geofilter seems to be more of a suggestion than anything, as they'll very often put me in servers outside of my filter with much higher ping even though I keep everything on strict, ping assist off etc, and steady ping doesn't even feel like it's doing anything, almost every game is packet burst packet burst packet burst just over and over every game of Cod. And when playing The Finals, I can't even see the servers on the heatmap, and when I play, it never tells me what server I'm playing on or what my ping should be, etc. I paid a lot of money for this router specifically to solve these problems, especially in Call of Duty, and the worst part is I think it's just Activision's servers when it comes to my issues with COD., I don't even think it's my internet or my hardware. Bufferbloat passes with an A+, speed test is good. Congestion management is set to be like 80%. I am at a loss on what to do at this point to fix this issue with COD.
theguycanfly Posted yesterday at 09:49 AM Author Posted yesterday at 09:49 AM I restart my router normally once a week - every 2 weeks, I have resynced the cloud, I'm on the latest version since like February, I have also checked with my ISP, no issues on their end
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 5 hours ago Administrators Posted 5 hours ago I'll get the team to update Ping Heatmap for The Finals, thanks for the report - it won't affect your connection quality or your ability to connect to servers. It's purely a tool to inform you of where the servers are approximately located and your estimated ping to them to give you an idea of where you might want to force servers. Geo-Latency is enabled, that's why you are sometimes getting games outside your radius, if you disable that it will exclusively use your radius/zone. I'd suggest you remove the 4 iterations of your device from the Geo-Filter and then on the Device Manager give your PC a PlayStation device type. Then re-add your PC to the Geo-Filter and it should add as a console. The benefits of doing this are two-fold: a) You don't have to deal with/enabling/disabling multiple added devices/services b) If any of the game services you have added are out of date then this method will always allow you to filter in the sense that it'll never become outdated - there may be times we need to retest though if they've changed something drastic but for the most part you can add and forget. theguycanfly 1

I'll make these recommended changes and report back in a few days. I'm in KY, I ping best on Ohio and Chicago servers for the most part, but Atlanta GA servers always have the worst connection for me in COD, no matter if it's MW3, BO6, Warzone etc, Atlanta GA servers are torture to play on, so much lag so I try to block them any time I get connected, hopefully this will keep me on Chicago and Ohio servers.
