Curtxr700 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Hi, My XR700 gives me a plain screen with the pop up box with "This R-App is not loaded yet, please try again in a minute" I'm unable to get any further. If I click ok I just get a loading circle and nothing happens. Have tried factory reset, different computers, smart phones tablets etc and same issue. Any ideas what I can try to resolve this? Thanks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 8 Administrators Posted September 8 Close the tab, reboot the router, wait 4 minutes then attempt access. Once you have access, on the System Information page go to the Rapp panel, click change the retries to 5, reboot the router from the interface, close the tab, wait 4 minutes then see if it's more stable
Curtxr700 Posted September 8 Author Posted September 8 Same issue after doing what you suggested so cant progress to any system settings. Also tried multiple factory resets yesterday. Router will go through the set up wizard steps but once completed it gives the above issue when you try and load the router page.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 8 Administrators Posted September 8 Download this firmware: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/51612-new-xr700-beta-firmware-33363 Then upgrade to it from 192.168.1.1/adv_index.htm and see if it works better after that
Curtxr700 Posted September 10 Author Posted September 10 Looks like the router got bricked doing this update. Only the Lan ports light up now with cables plugged in and cant access the router. Any way to recover or is it junk now?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 10 Administrators Posted September 10 It's unlikely to have bricked it, give it a reboot, wait 4 minutes then attempt access, if you still can't then while connected to the router via a wired Windows PC, open command prompt, type ipconfig press enter and then post a screenshot of the results here please.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 10 Administrators Posted September 10 Hold the Factory Reset button for 30 seconds then release, wait 4 minutes, then try accessing please and see if you can go through the setup wizard.
Curtxr700 Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 Hi, Tried this a few times and no change also holding the reset longer, the way the router lights react make me think a factory reset is isn't happening.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 11 Administrators Posted September 11 It's not cycling the lights? Set a static IP on the PC with the following details IP address: 192.168.1.100 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.1.1 DNS: 192.168.1.1 If you're not sure how to do this, you can check this guide: https://kb.netgear.com/27476/How-do-I-set-a-static-IP-address-in-Windows then try accessing 192.168.1.1 please and see if it works.
Curtxr700 Posted September 13 Author Posted September 13 That didn't work for me either. Have managed to get the router working by flashing with DD-WRT using TFTP. None of the old Netgear firmware or the beta one you linked to would install on the router. Can't seem to get it to take a netduma firmware for some reason, I do get a message on a serial link that router thinks its a r9000 so wont take the xr700 firmware. No sure if I caused this myself trying to flash r9000 firmware to try and bring it back to life! It wont take any r9000 firmware either. Although its not junk anymore I guess it has some use with the DD-WRT firmware, I've lost the gaming element of the router unless there is a way I can get it back on.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 13 Administrators Posted September 13 You won't be able to get DumaOS back on it now so you will be stuck with the DD-WRT firmware unfortunately
Curtxr700 Posted September 13 Author Posted September 13 Thought that might be the case, will order a newer netduma router to replace it. Hopefully the old one will be worth enough to make it worthwhile going on eBay with DD-WRT on it.
