john33 Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Hello, a sudden, incomprehensible problem occurred, and my Netgear XR1000 stopped connecting to the internet and the indicator turned red. I performed a factory reset, but the problem has not been resolved yet. When I set up the router, a new menu appeared, which I have never seen before. I will attach it now. What is the solution? Thank you.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 9 Administrators Posted August 9 Access with 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.1 instead and see if you can get past the page. What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode
john33 Posted August 9 Author Posted August 9 Yes, I was logging in using 192.168.1.1. There is no difference in the login method. In all cases, it takes me to this new menu. If I try to enter the information correctly (if) the internet will not work. It will show a white color, but in reality it will not work. As for how the internet flows, it is PPPoE, and Netgear XR V1 is the basic one.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 9 Administrators Posted August 9 What is the modem/router the XR1000 is connected to? Get through to the main interface then enable PPPoE and remove the set IP settings you made, reboot the router from the interface, wait 4 minutes then check
john33 Posted August 9 Author Posted August 9 The modem that carries the internet is a Huawei Hg8145v5. I tried, but it didn't work. I've been trying since this morning. I've done a factory reset several times, but to no avail
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 9 Administrators Posted August 9 Reboot the Huawei, wait 2 minutes, reboot the XR, wait 4 minutes then check again. If that doesn't work, connect your PC directly, enter PPPoE credentials on PC and see if you get internet that way.
john33 Posted August 10 Author Posted August 10 I tried that, but it didn't work. The device doesn't automatically retrieve IP information. If I don't enter it, it stays blank. If I enter it manually, it gives off a white light indicating that the internet is working, but in reality, it doesn't. I've tried with two service providers.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 10 Administrators Posted August 10 Could you provide a screenshot of the Internet Setup page on the XR please?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 10 Administrators Posted August 10 Looking at your Huawei model, the XR shouldn't be handling PPPoE, it doesn't need to it looks like, so disable PPPoE on the XR. Reboot the Huawei, wait 2 minutes, reboot the XR from the interface, wait 4 minutes then see if you get internet.
john33 Posted August 10 Author Posted August 10 The problem is that the "fixed IP" list appears, not PPPoE. I tried with two service providers, both with PPPoE and without PPPoE. Yes, the router version doesn't support this. Instead, you need to contact your service provider to have the Netgear XR connect via PPPoE. I've been connecting via PPPoE for three months and never had any problems like this. Previously, the "fixed IP" list didn't appear. Now, no matter what service provider I connect to, it won't do this and won't get the correct IP readings.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 10 Administrators Posted August 10 Provide the log from the System Information page please and I can see if there are any indications there. The Huawei device is in modem/bridge mode then presumably?
john33 Posted August 11 Author Posted August 11 First, I apologize for the delay in responding due to the time difference between countries. Second, the information list is as it is, without an IP address, unless you fill it out to no avail. Not to mention that the duma list has some problems logging in, and now I will attach it for you. Dear friend, are there any solutions? I've been experiencing this problem for 3 days. Yes, my Huawei was in bridge mode. And two hours ago, I spoke with my service provider to remove this mode.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 11 Administrators Posted August 11 No worries, reply whenever you're able to. Use 192.168.1.1 to login instead. I'll need the log from the System Information page when you then have access. As you've now disabled bridge mode you can also disable PPPoE on the XR. Reboot the Huawei, wait 2 minutes, reboot the XR from the interface, wait 4 minutes then check if you have internet.
john33 Posted August 11 Author Posted August 11 Is this what you want? When I set it to automatic, it displays zeros. Note that the IP address in one of the images I wrote is not 192.168.2.1 by default.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 11 Administrators Posted August 11 Once you've disabled PPPoE you need to set it to automatic, currently it's set to static, then reboot from the interface and it should grab the correct information from the ISP router. The logs panel is lower down on the System Information page, it would be easier to look/get screenshots from a PC if you have one available. Yeah its 10.0.0.1 as your ISP router uses 192.168.1.1 to access and they have to be different.
john33 Posted August 11 Author Posted August 11 Sorry, but I remind you repeatedly that when you put it on auto, it becomes zeros.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 11 Administrators Posted August 11 Was that screenshot taken after a reboot of the router after you disabled PPPoE?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 12 Administrators Posted August 12 Now the ISP modem/router isn't in bridge, on that interface does it show the XR as a connected device? Can you provide a picture of the back of the XR how the ethernet cables are connected and the same for your ISP modem/router please?
john33 Posted August 12 Author Posted August 12 XR doesn't show up on Huawei's interface as connected. I'll attach the image now.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 12 Administrators Posted August 12 1 hour ago, john33 said: XR doesn't show up on Huawei's interface as connected. I'll attach the image now. That white cable is connected to one of the Huawei LAN ports? That sounds very likely to be the ethernet cable then, if you switch it out for another does it work? If the Huawei doesn't show the two are physically connected then nothing we do on the XR will help until that happens
john33 Posted August 12 Author Posted August 12 The Ethernet cable is fine. The problem is with the XR. This is the fixed IP list. What is the solution?
john33 Posted August 12 Author Posted August 12 Yes. It's connected to Huawei and it's working fine. Huawei shows that a device is connected by the recurring light, but the XR doesn't appear in the list of connected devices. Do you understand, my friend?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 12 Administrators Posted August 12 So you've tried with another cable? What do you mean fixed IP list? Like I mentioned, until the Huawei recognizes that there is a physical connection to the XR/shows it on the list of devices there is nothing that can be done on the XR. You could try a different LAN port on the Huawei in case that one has gone bad. Otherwise it may be the WAN port on the XR is faulty in which case that's a hardware fault and definitely nothing we can do to fix it
